Why do some Americans get so offended and so uppity about the state they're from, and so competitive with their neighbouring states? Especially if they're from the arse end of nowhere in the midwest

States in the same general region of America are mostly indistinguishable to most people, but mfs from Iwoa will fucking condemn you to death if you dare claim any similarities to Indiana when literally no one outside of them can tell the difference. Same thing for most of New England, same thing for most of the South, no one cares about any of the West coast except LA

Only in the Baltics and Balkan area, pretty sure. Most of the people west of that are moderately chill about it, at least from my experience

Not nearly to the same extent though

Closest example I can think of is English people with the North vs the South but even then that's like the difference between the different regions of the US

There's nothing really in Europe I can compare to mfs from the middle of nowhere arguing about themselves vs the next state over that's totally indistinguishable from them
