as a pro you have to live abroad for multiple months a year, and you have a salary also some countries might not allow it

yeah im pretty sure its because of laws restricting minors to work or at least they can work in certain or certain hours so its just a headache for riot

I mean I obviously understand that, but isn't it possible to step over that rule by signing the deal with the parents? afaik cs teams do it if their player is under 18 (e.g. donk, monesy, mzinho, jimpphat). It is easier for cs pros since they go to events for a few weeks and don't have long leagues, but still

I am pretty sure the spanish football federation had to pay a fine for every time Lamine Yamal played after 10 pm during the euros in Germany.

The thing is it is definetly easier in some regions than others, and would essentially be impossible in regions with stricter child labor laws which would give a huge advantage to some regions by lowering the minimum age by 2 years while keeping the other at 18

edited to remove section about China after researching which countries restrict under 18 work (a lot)
CS has had no problems with under 18 working law with players under 18 joining top teams from all across the world for a long time, which is weird because there are very strict laws in a lot of countries about working under 18 with restricted hours which I'm sure CS surpasses. There are some countries that don't allow people under 18 to work during "school hours" which could be another factor. For context here are all large Valorant countries that would NOT be able to have players under 18 but over 16 playing in the league due to being outside of country:

Argentina: Only business hours
Brazil: Can't work at night
Chile: 18+
Indonesia: Restricted working hours
Philippines: Restricted working hours

Literally most of Europe way too many to list, reasons include:
Arguable if gaming is counted as light work
Arguable if gaming is prohibited by government
It'd have to be an approved occupation
Restricted working hours (this is for most countries, most are not allowed to work during school hours nor into the night)

EXPAND BELOW FOR EUROPE LIST ITS LONG

Belgium: Arguable if gaming is counted as light work
Bulgaria: Arguable if gaming is prohibited by government
Czech Republic: Hours + it'd have to be an approved occupation
Denmark: Restricted working hours
Estonia: Restricted working hours
Finland: Restricted working hours
France: Restricted working hours
Germany: Restricted working hours
Hungary: Restricted working hours
Latvia: Restricted working hours
Lithuania: Restricted working hours
Poland: Arguable if gaming is counted as light work
Portugal: Restricted working hours
Russia: Restricted working hours

2G have allegedly planned a roster move from the acad roster so im interested to see how that will play out as well as when spike comes in.
