Franchising Rework when?

Will riot rework the franchising teams at the end of 25 or 26?

franchised teams are permanent, only acension teams will stay or leave depending on performance

rework is a bit of a strong word
but yes is coming end 26

they have a franchising contract which will expire in the end of 2026
but riot will likely renew with everyone or sub one or two orgs per region at most

reevaluation is because of issues/underperformance in various metrics yes

Delete china league and bring only EDG to pacific

After 4 years, so basically between 2026 and 2027 things will be review, a lot of things may happen, they are many possibilities that are possible :

• No structural change, only some change in the franchise team, like EG replaced by G2 for example
• Change of number of Ascension team in each continental region, Leo Faria has say if we would do franchise today, he would probably put more ascension team, I wouldn't be surprised if in near future we would have 3 ascension team and only 9 partner (or maybe 8/12, but that doesn't sound possible in APAC, where they are already region that isnt represented in T1, and almost big marked have only 1 team, beside JP and KR that you basically cant reduce because it's too popular)
• Creation of a new T1 region : With APAC having more hype in premier, a huge development in KR Val (More KR team in premier than NA), India developing, the war being over in Ukraine meaning CIS team might come back, MENA, Oceania and VN having no T1 team, they are a room for a 5th region, basically probably for split between Asia (SEA, SA, Middle East, either CIS or TR and Subsaharaia [lol]) and Pacific (KR, JP, OCE), with that change it will become possible to drastically reduce the number franchised team and augment the partner team
• Enlargement of number of team in the 4 continental T1 (16 teams would make some things easier for kickoff and give a little bit more game in regular season, but I don't really trust it)
