why do the chinese and korean teams say "nice"? i noticed this also for the chinese broadcast that they say stuff like "ace" or clutch
note it's not just chinese and korean teams but those are the two that i saw today
saebr [#2]All teams say nice
yeah but why would the use the english version over their language's "nice"?
Stormyv8 [#8]i think it's similar to words like "okay", "go", or "hello"
okay makes sense, but for like go or hello each language is different
Lucrix [#10]yeah but why would the use the english version over their language's "nice"?
quicker to say, one syllable
Prasinos [#13]Same reason english speakers say "Vamos", it's just game culture.
99.99% don't say vamos.
Lucrix [#10]yeah but why would the use the english version over their language's "nice"?
competitive games mostly started in the US so the terms carried over to other languages

it's just very contagious. it just starts with a foreigner using it in ranked, then hearing your ranked teammates use it. if portuguese had as much influence as english we'd be saying vamos (which is more fun to say)
61Hiko [#14]99.99% don't say vamos.
If I remenber correctly.
The Casters, Sentinels, C9, NRG, 100T already had said Vamos.
