Do you want people to just never engage in any meaningful discussion ever? If you see a lengthy paragraph that you don't feel like reading, move on. Responding to someone typing more than a few sentences essentially mocking them for being thorough is so fucking stupid. It's basically saying that brain fried TikTok ADHD and the inability to engage with anything meaningful is a good thing and having an attention span less than 3 seconds makes you smarter than people capable of writing more than a paragraph. Stop broadcasting your brainrot as a way to shut down meaningful discussions and ignore threads that are longer than your TikTok brain can handle.

i read a study that some people are actually just unable to read like multiple sentence paragraphs. They can manage the first 3 sentences but after that they just skim it and don't read it. I find that really interesting because it shows an actual decrease in care to detail and (for a lack of better words) attention span
to be clear, yes this existed before tiktok and short form content but its become much much more common. people used to read newspapers and articles and nowadays people watch a 20 second tiktok about it. This also shows in how long news stays relevant, people are constantly chasing something new and dont stop to ponder or reflect on events. I am not saying longer content is defacto better but I believe that short form content is a net negative
Yeah, it feels like nowadays no one is willing to engage with something that requires actual effort to observe, whether it be social media content, forum comments or media. Brain melting slop is taking over as the predominant method of engaging with the world, and whenever someone sees something that aims to be thorough or extensive, they feel the need to make fun of it because it's the internet and they feel the need to comment on everything they see despite not having the capabilities to engage in any meaningful way
