Hi looking to buy a monitor. Want the best just for response time and just clicking head. Don’t know jack shit really. Don’t care about the price too much. Before you say it isn’t worth it currently I’m imm2 on a lg 100hz monitor. Looking to go to like 360hz. I only play casually but an injury has sidelined me recently so I can no longer rock climb. I’m thinking about getting more into gaming again. I played a lot when I was younger. Is zowie the best is dynac better than ulmb 2 wtf does any of that even mean. If anyone could help a dude out appreciate it very much.

Should have included I pc that can handle it. get like 600-700fps. It’s for rendering my footage lol.

(There is a lot of interaction sorry for everyone I can’t say thank you too for responded mainly just read the post here. Don’t post wasn't aware of timer!)

Every person I know who takes this game seriously and got 360hz got the zowie, including me. Works very well for tac fps, the jump from 100 to 360 gonna be life changing

sorry to hear about the injury hope your recovery goes well

Thank you. I’m almost certain it will be too, I’ve just never made the jump because climbing my main. passion gave me what my friends call ungodly mouse control. Just ironic it’s now fueling this one lol. Thank you for your advice have a good day!

I'd go for something like the Alienware AW2527DF, I have it and its great
If you're only really playing casually I wouldn't go for the 360hz Zowie tbh, its TN and the diff between it and the 360Hz OLED isn't huge in terms of motion clarity, but the difference in picture clarity is huge

DYAC and ULMB is basically the same thing, just different branding for Zowie and NVIDIA

Check out this video by optimum: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNIN9ud9PZU
(It's a different monitor, but uses the same panel as the AW2527DF)

But if you really have an unlimited budget I'd just go for the ASUS PG27AQDP

Ahh I must not have been clear I’m not longer playing causally. Just gonna rehabbing and this mainly/cs2. So switch your answers? And thank you for clarifying dyac vs ulmb.

I see, if picture clarity isn't an issue at all and you've got an unlimited budget I'd go for the ASUS PG248QP, it's a 540hz 1080p TN panel with ULMB 2, pretty much objectively the best FPS monitor atm

But (my own opinion) is that you should go for the ASUS PG27AQDP at that point, it costs a similar amount and is 480hz for a way better experience and it definitely won't be holding you back in FPS games
here's another video from optimum (If you're buying a top of the line monitor, it's more than likely optimum has made a video on it): https://youtu.be/fgnYCo29-Zk?si=mRA_oBliSynKJAqJ

Whichever you end up getting I hope it treats you well, and I hope you have a speedy recovery

Gotcha I doubt I’d even notice the hz difference. But If I’m gonna give it my all, I don’t want there to be the cope that I’m at a disadvantage because of gear. My own inability I can live with thought. I guess just playing for fun really doesn’t make you forget about all this kinda stuff. And thanks brother enjoy your day you’ve been more than helpful!

For competitive games get either benq or asus

Immortal 2 on 100hz is pretty impressive. Deadass upgrading to 360hz will probably turn you into a top 1000 player on the leaderboard. I hope you recover from your injury man.

Don't know exactly. But go for 1440p monitor minimum unless you only play Valorant. No reason to go for 1080p in 2025. Same goes for panel type(TN, VA, IPS) and size(24" vs 27"). Just before you buy some expensive 360hz 1080p monitor with shit panel. Its fine if you just want to play comp, but you never know if you actually wanted to enjoy other games or movies etc. I've came to this realization after just focusing on "esport" stuff that actually didn't matter at all before. Just something that could think about.

I guess we are on to opposites of the spectrum since I’ve only really cared as a viewer not really as a practitioner. Your insight does give perspective, I hope fully diving into competitive doesn’t give me such a pessimistic/doomer view on it lol. But maybe I’m just reading it wrong.

If you mean the "esport" part then no I've never been that competitive. Just that before I always bought stuff like I was a esport player or something, only caring about min/maxing performance. Buying stuff because it was "made for pros" like it actually mattered for my use case. For example I forced myself to play on 1080p because that's what pros do. If you get me. Now I've started to realize that prioritizing good resolution, good colors, good monitor size are better for anything outside of min/maxing in competitive games. I'm not a pro and not planning on becoming one so why try to act like one.

but ofc this depends what you want. Nothing wrong for going fully competitive and then my opinion doesn't matter. Just something to think about.

I don't know about other stuff but for resolution only go for a 1440p monitor if your PC can run the games you play at 1440p. Because if you downscale those games to 1080p its gonna look blurry asf because 1440p:1080p isn't a ratio of whole numbers (it isn't exactly 2 pixel to 1 pixel its more like 1.77 pixels to 1 pixel, therefore some details are lost) I am pretty sure thats why most 4K monitors have a 1080p mode because its a whole number ratio (4:1)

the best monitors out are whatever zowie offer at 360hz+ with dyac2 and OLEDs at 360hz+
