Stop importing talents

A call towards Japanese orgs to stop importing players and start to develop the talents they have e like they are supposed to do 3 years ago.

They are constantly running away from that reality, deluding themselves that they are improving, they sure do but with minimal growth with every orgs trying to be "inclusive " and "diverse". They're making it as if zeta academy monopolized all the young prospects with 10 academy member in their team when in reality zeta academy rn is just a consequence of shitty org behaviors.

Stop trying to develop other region's talent ffs, let them play in their region. It's time to roll back your DEI programs.

regardless it's quite sad how import ridden it is. I'm pretty sure CN tier 2 is more effortful with developing local talent in their SECOND YEAR

It's actually getting better imo, we're getting there. Sengoku are starting to redeem themselves.

BUT, it would be great if Sc0rz actually tries to pick young domestic prospects instead of 3 imports and CGZ to finally use their scouts to look for local domestic talents man. NFX needs to stop sticking to nostalgia and get rid of eko and esperanza

if you compare how things are now compared to 22/23 then it has gotten much better. though it's still frustrating how the 2 kr trend still exists in half of the non-academy teams alongside sc0rz still having y0shiii

Can't help it unfortunately, getting rid of addiction is hard. But regardless they're trying.

Except Jan Seoldam and Joxjo there are legitimate reasons why most imports should go. And they are looking very replaceable.

He's the IGL iirc, Japan lacks IGL which is why I find it understandable that they import one, and he performed well too

Problem is, Riot wants T2 to kinda be its own thing, with Ascension and all that. They probably wanted to replicate the success of European LoL T2, the successful ERLs and EM with huge viewership, but obviously, it doesn't seem to be working outside of Japan. So importing talent is kinda natural if you are not a T1 team with an academy.

Thing you are missing is, T2 teams are not there to foster local talent. They are there to win. They are there to qualify for Ascension and find your ROI. If you win with 5 Japanese, that's a big plus (eg: FL) but it means jackshit if you don't win anything important (again, eg: FL). See where FL core is this year? You should also remember all the conversation revolving RID core last year. Giving chance for up and coming talents is a net positive for the whole Japanese scene, but no one's gonna do that in cost of their own success. Unfortunately, I think you have a wrong idea about the goals of VCJ teams.

That's why inclusion of ZETA.A and DFM.A, and to an extent academy teams in other T2 regions is so important for the Japanese scene. Because those teams are actually there to foster talent, not necessarily to win something. Also helps when teams like T1A exists that is fathering CL KR but can't qualify for Ascension, making the path for eventual VCJ representative much easier.

I agree on this. But they need to stop getting anymore imports leaving only those who only played in Japan, this is to stop this category from being abused

I do understand that my thoughts are at odds with org's vision. But these orgs are getting out of hand, Scarz exists, while CGZ continue to scout young imports.

Either way I think franchising and ascension is the root cause of this mentality issue

T2 orgs don't have the luxury to look further into the future. For them, it's win now or not, and get your ROI now or not. Especially considering how volatile T2 is, and how unstable the scene is. If anything, you wouldn't see much change unless JP talents are at the top of VCJ, which they are closely getting to but not just yet with the likes of RID, or if one of the academy teams win it all/at least perform better than majority of the teams.

Like I've said, orgs don't have enough incentives to do what you want. No incentives = no change.

Of course, that is unless you are a popular streamer and own a team, so you make returns just by owning the team. That's generating content, and if you have 5 Japanese, there is a higher chance you get better content. That's why MRSH works. But expecting a similar way of operation from other teams is not going to work.

Completely right, deport them quickly. I'd like to see that keep 2 ascension slots as Korean orgs until this game is gone. We can see the same bright future.

VIT never wanted Aspas. Derke was their first option.

the tournament organizers should restructure the T2 JP scene in order to get orgs to benefit from developing JP talents. The problem is, Tier 2 hasn't shown any signs of stability no matter how large or small the region is.

JP's talent pool is not that big compared to KR.

orgs won't do jack shit if the biggest orgs that didn't get a franchise spot pulled out of the Valorant scene completely. This ain't happening.

It's growing but it's indeed smaller than Kr. But that's not the main problem.

The main problem is even when the pool is growing orgs are not even trying to scout them. Those with larger resources will develop players faster, the problem is those resources usually goes to young imports, while domestic talents have to rely with fewer resources, this slows development while young imports are being developed faster. For every import recruited the scene just step 1 step back in terms of progression.
