People who put zekken in GOAT contention but say putting Zmjjkk in there is recency bias are objectively fucking brain dead and literally only say that cuz zekken is NA

Zmjjkk's been to more international events and has been considered a top 10 player itw for longer

Hell zekken and Zmjjkk literally peaked in the same year, and Zmjjkk's peak was arguably higher than zekken's at a higher stakes event

And honestly if Zmjjkk keeps up his performance this year and EDG continue to make deep runs I think he makes a better case than aspas, and if he wins another event this year then I think it's undisputable

the best duelist is aspas, baiter allegations aside. I have never felt the aura of people being scared to go to him in a 1v5 as with other duelists. He is miles ahead of anyone

I agree that zekken over kangkang is recency bias

however I don't agree that kangkang can have a better case that aspas unless the latter has a REALLY down year

Idk if EDG have a year at least comparable to their Champs form, which I think they've at the bare minimum shown is a level they can hit again at times, and MIBR don't improve significantly, then I think Zmjkk's international showings would probably be on par with aspas'

And if he wins an event and MIBR don't then I think he HAS to be the front runner for the title

The problem with KangKang vs Aspas is KangKang might. e better but its harder for him to prove that because hes only been on edg a good team for so long. Aspas made lev and brought mibr 3rd in kickoff. I have no doubt Kangkang could carry a bad team like aspas can but he hasnt been able to prove it

True but at the same time I feel like international consistency should be a more valued metric than ability to perform with a bad team (tho I honestly don't think LEV or MIBR can really be considered bad teams, just inconsistent)

finals record is an overrated concept. it basically implies that you value missing the playoffs or losing in the 1st round more than making it to the finals at all. chronicle might have won finals mvp but nAts was the reason they got to that point and he was much more impactful and clearly the better player for the whole run. also the luck-in loss was because of tuyz's underwhelming performance and saadhak's calling crumbling under pressure.

Aspas for sure is the GOAT. No matter what team he is on he is still that guy who is the ultimate x factor for that team.

The fact that MIBR is already top 3 in americas is mainly due to him -- especially cause, barring aspas, everyone on the team is still new to tier 1.
