Zekken played his first franchised game on 2/24/2023 when he was still 17 years old, however we know that the age restriction is 18 years old, so how would he have been able to play? I'm pretty sure that I've read somewhere that the age restriction only applies to league games and LANs are different as it's not considered "working" under the law, however correct me if I'm wrong.

This would mean that people under 18 (the age restriction) would be able to play at LANs but not league games. But ofc why would any team do this as keeping the team that quals to a LAN and not replacing a player with someone else is understandable.

zekken and alfajer were grandfathered into franchising iirc (idk what it means) and this 18+ only started with franchise

grandfathering is letting something continue despite new rules being put into place because it was already happening
