Sin Prisa Gaming got acquired by Nongshim Redforce, which in case anyone isn't aware, is a team that is in the League Of Legends Korea Tier 1 League. This means that (presumably) Riot likes the org and the team will be allowed to play in VCT under that banner.
With this signing, and the signing of The Guard, Leo Faria and the entire Riot esports decision to not allow spots to be purchased in the VCT seems to be less and less like a loose farce than an actual ruling.
If orgs can get into bidding wars after the Ascension Tournament ends for who can pay the most for the player's salaries, then how is that any different from buying a spot themselves, except the fact that Riot gets no money through this roundabout way of purchasing a franchising slot, and it's done behind closed doors?
