Obviously they can't participate, but that's where the similarities end. I don't like this injury analogy altogether because the potential for injury in physical sports is an inherent fact of life. Being denied a visa because of xyz is not. Saying 'oh well they're both just things out of your control' is grossly oversimplifying it.
