How would you kill VCT

Instead of asking how to improve VCT like normal let me do the opposite with this hypothetical

Say you work for valve and you become an industry plant at riot, and you've just been promoted to Leo Faria's position
What's the most subtle but effective thing you could do to kill VCT (you would have to be able to sell your idea to investors/the community)

I would: Remove ascension (I would spin it as some sort of thing for stability), do exclusive streaming on YT for some short term deal (thanks OW). What would you do?

Make it so that for internationals go off of viewers of the previous. So with China having the most viewers at champs they get the most teams at an international at half and so on and so on.
This will make it so no one watches other than China and the game is dead because they are ass and eventually it’ll die there too because it’ll only be EDG winning and people will get board.
