I dont understand why they drop the Sage on Icebox, the pick got an amazing winrate.
Probably because even if she's good, it feels uncomfortable for teams to run double sentinel (since KJ is practically mandatory) instead of Sova + Gekko or Viper + Harbor.
I would like to see a T1 team run Sage and no duelist on Icebox but I don't know if that will happen
I really think we should stop consider Sage as a Sentinel :
- She have no passive vision
- She have no stuff to interact with the be an anchor (and nothing to trap)
- She have nothing to lurk and half of her spell are usless if she is alone
Sentinel definition by Riot :
The abilities of agents under this role focus on defensive play, with emphasis on supporting the rest of the team through providing intel, anchoring down sites, and preventing the enemy from flanking.
- defensive play : debatable
- supporting the rest of the team through providing intel : NONE
- anchoring down sites : NONE (Half of your spell are usell only if with other mates)
- preventing the enemy from flanking : NONE (using your wall to do that is suicide)
Controller definition by Riot :
The abilities of agents under this role allow them to assist their teammates by cutting enemy vision, taking control of an area, and forcing enemies into choke points.
- assist their teammates by cutting enemy vision : 1 spell
- taking control of an area : Orb + Wall
- forcing enemies into choke points : She can create choke point
People gonna say : But she have stall power ! Yes, exactly same way has every controller, sentinel are so weak that people use a definition of sentinel that cover almost every controller of the game (Viper, Astra, Brim)
I’m not saying she is a controller, I’m saying she is not a Sentinel, she is the antipodes of a senitnel, And if you force me to put her somewhere I rather put her in Controller, or even in Init, everything but not a Sentinel. T.T
But maybe i'm wrong >.>
