Champs vs Masters (Genuine Question)

Why is winning Champs more weighted than winning a masters? If GE were to win champs. Even though, GE came last in regionals and only did enough to secure a champs spot. Compared to a team that were to win a Masters and come second the next, but flop in champs like GenG. What team would be considered the best team and why? is it about like recency bias or is it about dominating the league?

theoretically yes, but you could argue "oh but its the start of the season, no one has had prep time, team chemistries are fucked for almost everyone" etc also it was a single elim tournament with basically no group stage

Yeah even the ingame titles say "vct masters [insert location] winners" while the champs one says " VCT 2024 Champions" not champs winners or anything...just champions

No I meant that out of the 4 fourth places only 1 made the playoffs.

More prestige, more money, teams tend to be playing better(set metas + peak team chem) and it ends the year

greater prize pool, once a year(lock/in was an invite tourney), more teams than masters, end of year, more pressure, most teams usually peak at the end, ever year is basically a new meta, so end of the year is usually when every team masters said meta. No group stage bye for 1st seeds

1st Masters (8 Teams) - Mickey Masters, test everything out - new players, teams, meta
2nd Masters (12 Teams) - Real Masters - solidy teams and get prepared to win Champions
Champions (16 Teams) - Masters of the meta and best Team in the World

We all know Champs is the most important tournament of the year.

Many things but the simple answer is that objectively its just way harder to win and the prize pool is like 3x bigger or smth
