the fanbase is big enough, there are orgs there, I personally see several problems
A) Who goes to the now formed VCT NA? 100t, c9, sen, eg, nrg, g2 are all there, problem is that their financial situations can change in months, and I don't see many orgs joining in, or the ones which join are doomed to be the bottom feeders to the big dogs
B) Why would riot go for extra expenses on hosting the entire 5th region? If riot deemed it profitable, I am sure the VCT Calendar would have more than 3 events per year

vct americas 2023: south america team won, and the 4 champions representatives = 2 NA and 2 SA
vct americas 2024: south america team won, and the 4 champions representatives = 2 NA and 2 SA

pretty equal no? with even some advantage to SA

also south america teams have VISA problems with players

if you want to make a whole league, it’s gonna be only 2 good teams
and also all the teams will not be able to scrim with what you call “the best teams in the world”
i know that china is also like that but first, rito is owned by tencent so there’s nothing we can do, and also chinese scene is evolving very fast, having the game released just one year ago
unlike SA that had the game since beta like everyone else

Bro they are not on the same level? Tf. M80 is saving strats and tsm isnt even our top 3 vcl teams they jut got lucky. Lev is the only other good team and they have 2 NA players . But sure take away the 3 Br teams from the league I wouldnt mind that

We've been saying this since the franchising was announced. Even half a league would be great for the scene... We could have VCT Americas with 2 conferences, North and South, similar to what Riot will do for LOL

The riot system itself is sustainable, not really their fault Sentinel shares cost less than 1 robux, EG NRG C9 are cheap shits, 100T are more concerned about their brand rather than results.

I tend to disagree with that, we saw in LoL that America couldn't have 10 viable team in a game far more popular than VAL,
Let's look at the market : This year, every BR team were in crisis, and EG will probably fall.

Do you think you can find 6 new good NA orgs ? (Assuming M80 and G2 are good enough) do you think you can fill a SA 12 team league with more LATAM teams ? Would this region be competitive ? America is stronger together, diversity make the league more interesting. Maybe at some point we will be able to reach 16 team and makes 2 conferences of 8 so SA would be able to play in their region most part of the year, but going to 12 to 24 with how many Amer team are struggling isnt viable today.

What argument can you use for the split of Amer that we can't use for the split of APAC ? interest of val in KR and JP kinda grow, while population and quality of life increase everyday in SEA, Korea have so many great org while Japan want more team, OCE dosn't even have a team (And because of that best Aussie player go into China instead of creating an OCE team that will hype the full region, what a loss), VN too, APAC expansion is mush more crucial than NA

Same for Europe, the day CIS will be back we WILL need more team, MENA also have no team, having only one would make so many good things for the region in the long term, and i'm not event talk about Turkey.

Then we have China, we can't expand China right now, China don't have enough good player, that's true but... Lot of heavily clouted org in China is in crisis and couldn't join Val and the day they will be stable financially, they might want to come, and we cant now if Val will continue increasing in popularity.

So no, I don't think Amercias should split now and have 24 teams, but I think they could go to 16 teams... Like every region beside China. If I was at Riot place I would wait war in Russia to end, and when it happens expand everyone to 16 team, with for every region 2 or 3 more partenered team :

OCE and VN in APAC, KR and JP will probably take some spot as ascended team anyway,
MENA and CIS for EMEA (War is finally over ! Yay !)
For AMER... One in Mexico for LAN representation and probably one NA more, but lets be honest it's far more urgent to give CIS, MENA, VN and OCE their first spot, than giving to NA their 6th partenered team
For CN... I would love to give a spot to the Mongolz, and find a way to play on CN server to reduce ping, I would also like to see a full TW branded team, but this isn't realistic, so in place, i'll just list the biggest clouted CN org that dont have a spot, IG, RND, Top, Estar, FAM, NIP, LGD
