How is it that the other teams have to play in play-ins while FNATIC and somehow Karmine Corp don't have to?

I guess they won seasonal trophys so that makes them the best teams in europe so far right guys!!!

Oh yeah forgot about that. Surely these teams are the best for winning their trophys regionally

It's not particularly hard to understand if you look at it only from a financial perspective, directly inviting teams with big fanbases is strategic by Red Bull. KC, FNC and G2 are established names and a lot of people want to watch them, so in a way this just secures they 100% get a chance to watch, and having a big audience you can market a product to = potential profit.

But FOKUS isn't that well known and yet gets a direct event invite

I did not claim this is the case for all teams, not particularly sure why are they being invited again, this could imply they have some sort of partnership (just a speculation), but I am not familiar with the orgs history.

I doubt that's why considering some of the other names that have to deal with play ins, like sentinels for example. Idk if vlr just got it wrong but sentinels only got invited to the play ins not the main event, so your logic would be incorrect which tbh makes no sense you should be right

For people confused just look at past HG
they always invite a couple regional teams and then hold quals/cross region invites to fill the other slots
