another year with a terrible esports system where 70% of the teams will play 10-15 matches for the whole year, because 8 teams out of 48 in the partner system go to international tournaments, thanks Riot
Nef0r0 [#2]I really wonder what's the point for teams like BBL, Mibr, Furia, Zeta to stay around like this, or is the real success of franchising are the friends we make along the way?
They get paid to be there so it's probably that

riot gives all the orgs millions in funding thats why theyre here. one team was using the riot money to buy players for their cs team 🤣
Conceit [#4]They get paid to be there so it's probably that
I don't understand why would riot spend additional money on granting these teams money to run instead of hosting open qualfiiers for regional splits

that's retarded, you would expose more talent and give more teams money by hosting open qualifiers and you wouldn't need to spend gazillions for orgs like mibr to go 1-9

there are a lot of interesting and strong teams playing in Tier-2, but we will never see them at the Masters and Champions because they will not pass Ascension, because only 1 team per season is added to partner leagues, instead we will look at Furia who will play 10 matches all year and finish the season at the beginning summer

they should make regional leagues 16 team with 10 franchised + 6 open qual, but leo faria apparently wants CS to shit on valorant when open circuit comes, good for GayBen I guess

BBL is Turkish, just wait
CanadaMan [#10]Thats how every sports league works, the only difference is that the NBA or the MLB for example have more teams in one league. Better teams that win more always play in more games.
but in MLB or NBA, all teams plays 90 games in the regular season, when 70% of the teams in Valorant will play 15 games

I wanna see how the team of classmates who won their division in the Premier wins at the Masters, when so many good players plays in Tier 2 rn

unfortunately no one gives a shit about them, they have 1 bad year, they get axed, a bigger team buys them, expects immediate results, doesn't get them, they get axed, they legit have a better chance in cs than in valorant
Demon1_The_GOAT [#14]Both Masters and Champions for next year is only 8 and not 16?
no, its 8, 12, and 16, same as thisyear
Nef0r0 [#6]I don't understand why would riot spend additional money on granting these teams money to run instead of hosting open qualfiiers for regional splits
Lower chance of orgs pulling out from what I understand. I do agree though that from a competition standpoint it's bad, which is what should really matter. Unfortunately that's just the system we live in

I am pretty sure that orgs outside of valorant are going ''awuga'' when they see team bundles and shit, they would easily hop in if any org dropped
Conceit [#4]They get paid to be there so it's probably that
Riot cut that funding massively I'm pretty sure
nutab1e [#21]Riot cut that funding massively I'm pretty sure
so then orgs get even less incentive to stay at the league or what?
CanadaMan [#10]Thats how every sports league works, the only difference is that the NBA or the MLB for example have more teams in one league. Better teams that win more always play in more games.
each team there plays a huge amount of games and gets a share of TV rights, bundles are nowhere near that profitable, nothing is
nutab1e [#21]Riot cut that funding massively I'm pretty sure
They only cut the funding for content (which most orgs did a shit job at anyway) and in return they made it so all orgs get a cut of the champs bundle but the ones who make champs gets more. (I also think they increased the base amount each team gets by 100k but I can't remember for sure honestly)
