How does it feel liking a team that much?

Honest to god question. I cannot for the life of me root passionately for a team or have a singer/band that I really like. I'm always like "bro chill the fuck out its a videogame/band". Mostly watch the games to see good plays but that's it.

Why did you chose to root for your current team (be it in Val or something else) and how does it feel like?

i have adhd and prx is the only team that consistently doesn't make me lose interest

in all seriousness though, I just really like PRX playstyle, it's so fun to watch and I love how they use new agents

edit: first point is kind of true though, i actually do have mild ADHD

That is true, PRX is definitely a fun team to watch, even though they go for W key gaming too much sometimes

fair point. there are quite a few people that I know of that root for specific players, not the teams per se.

i like the players in EMEA and some of their playstyles (nAts) and moments/clutches (Shao). or big brain (Boaster) or funny big brain (Ange1)

For me, I picked this player called skuba when he was playing for knights for a fantasy team back in 2022. Honestly I didn’t really know him and I only picked him because he was very cheap. He started off the season poor, but then he started popping off and they ended up 2-3 in the split qualifying for playoffs. I’ve been supporting skuba since then.

I had a similar story with C0M in 2022, which is why I supported EG in 2023 (before the season even started!)

You don’t always have to like the whole team, but sometimes just a player or moment can help. Maybe you will have a moment like that, maybe not. It’s all good either way

Personally 2018 was a bit of a down year for me.. lost interest in most of the things and started watching Boston major.. was so hype and loved the underdogs C9 who went under Tarik and won it. That's it till date how much ever they fuck up their roster/games it's C9 all the way.. fuck you for messing up almost everytime C9

I was a big fan of Mibr, before the Major in Cs, Brazil was NOTHING. No one cared about Brazil gamming community.

But after the major, our humble professor Fallen, started to create lan houses to the poors, teaching how to play Cs for free. Thanks to him, the Brazillian community exploded, bringing to us, our first org.

Pretty sure its a country/culture thing for most people especially with t1 teams. You usually only see NA fans with NA teams, EMEA fans with EMEA teams, Pacific fans with Pacific teams, and China with Chinese teams, the only teams that has broken down this is both PRX and SEN but that's because they are both popular as shit.

i become fans of players by watching their streams or watching their pro games, then i just end up rooting for them wherever they go

When i was new to Val, i searched streamers to a learn to play. I disliked everyone but i loved Sacy and Aspas.
Some days later they formed a team, Loud.
I was super passionate to Loud, but they disbanded (I geted super depressed).

I am more a Aspas anda Sacy fan, tham a team fan.
But of curse, if the team is Brazilian, my love get doubled🫠

I don't actually, I like the region more(in this case Japan or VCJ) for a long time, I saw Absol's rise to VCJ (he's goated btw) and started to think that this region has a lot more to offer than meets the eye.

For me I typically get into competitive games through a team or a personality. So whatever team gets me to play the game or what competitive first, is the one i feel very passionately about and I just keep rooting for that team forever cause of that connection. But a team or a player has to put on a godly performance for me to get invested in the first place. For example, if i started watching valorant in 2022 when yay was dominating i'd most likely be rooting for optic/nrg core forever.

I chose Sen because of their story of being the fallen kings, looking to find their former glory. I also really like zekken, I used to root for Xset until they disbanded and I want to see him succeed. He has the most potential out of all the players on Xset imo.

I always find an appeal with people & groups who make something out of nothing. I can never find an appeal in rooting for a team that is set up for success from the start, or is built with the intention for an immediately high skill ceiling. What truly builds a legacy isn't from how extravagant or high the throne you sit on is, nor is it from having the best players, but from building one with your blood, sweat, and grit as materials. Then and only then will you be able to look back on your accomplishments with satisfaction that you truly did everything you could to make the most out of your time competing. I ENJOY watching AG not because they're the best, but because I can see the visible effort they put into improving, and that's all that really matters to me.
