ive been saying since 2023 that demon1 should expand his agent pool, especially once the jett nerfs were announced.

he has played smokes a fair few times in tier 1, very successful on astra and brim, not so much on omen.

he has also played chamber consistently on some maps on egs run to champions.

do you guys agree he needs to widen his agent pool? and if so which way should he go?

options:

  1. towards duelists like raze and neon so he can become full time duelist?
  2. towards smokes (specifically omen) so that he can switch between smokes and duelist more consistently like he did on eg?
  3. towards a new sentinel role, seems fitting to his strengths and playstyle but he only has experience on chamber?
  4. towards nothing at all and just force his team into some weird comps?

why do you insist on the fact that he needs change when he was the best player in the world already as a flex?

i think it CAN work if he plays astra/jett/brim full time but it would limit their comps and the game has changed. thats option 4

Why are you even insistent on the fact that Jett is out of the picture? The agent is still viable, and Demon1’s next match will be in Feb of next year, who knows how the meta might look until then. You’re just grasping at straws here

  1. is probably more practical considering he has played smokes. sentinel would fit him but im not sure if he would like that transition

jett is still main duelist on a good few maps but with maps like split, lotus and sunset the meta is not to run jett, astra or brim

he can still play jett and i said he can. thats option 2 "smokes and duelist" the duelist being just jett

Keyword USED TO. He no longer is, this meta and the team he was on required him to play differently and I don't think he had the support system to learn/change his playstyle.

i think the word is 'fallacy' whos to say the meta doesnt become like 4 sentinels and a clove. the meta would likely change but really whos to say it changes in his favour

ok idk where you’re going with that but if anything, we can’t even be judging his agent pool for this year anyways from the fact that he was playing on a team where no one knew wtf they were doing. Demon1 can expand his agent pool if he wants but he’s already capable of playing enough agents a component team can maximize on to win.

You push the fact that he should limit himself to a specific role when Potter already highlighted how well he can play as a flex, and I don’t get that

With how NRG played today id say that kicking out Demon1 and Marved was very... questionable. They choked a 12-5 lead with what everyone calls the "goat" igl. I dont know if that screams horrible igl'ing or just not being able to control the mental, because all of NRG was visibly getting worse and worse round after round. Also imo im just a victor and crashies hater because they were seen as the "Best duo" and Victor said he was "Best duelist NA", yet got diffed by a small child and nearly every duelist theyve come across. BUT TBH IM JUST A DEMON1 FANBOY SO :) take all of this with a BLOCK of salt, not a grain

i dont really disagree. personally i think astra is mad underrated and really strong on haven and sunset (maybe not as good as omen but still good) and a strong team can be built with his comfort in mine. i just think there would be a huge strategical benefit if he just learned like 1 agent. if he was comfortable to play omen or cypher or something he would have such a strong agent pool and his team wouldnt have any limits

Pretty sure I remember him saying that Cypher is his fav agent, so I would like to believe that he already has experience playing him alr i guess

wait thats so fucked then cause nrg played victor cypher and demon1 raze on sunset 😂

surely just put demon1 on a less experienced role if he likes it and victor on his best right??

I think smokes and sentinel would be great for him but maybe I'm wrong. I could definitely see him excelling on Cypher the way Less does. Both have a similar playstyle. Astra/Brim/Omen for smokes or Cypher/Chamber for sentinel perhaps? Sentinel is the easiest role to learn and you can play passively/slow which would suit his playstyle and allow him to focus on his aim.

i dont think he needs to learn 2 agents, if he can learn just one he would be so good

your idea isnt bad tho, he does have the whole offseason
