I agree with you and I am not really sure why. It could be cultural. I would also say the fan base here leans more Asian American but I don't know that for sure. It could just be a higher percentage of the Asian American population plays PC games in general

Asian Americans tend to be of more wealth than most other ethnicities in the US and can therefore afford the equipment (good pc, mouse, etc) to perform at their highest capability. Also esports is more socially acceptable and taken more seriously in the sphere than maybe in other cultures idk

there’s like 2 distinct types of asians in the US, those with first-gen parents that are studious and stress academics or there are the asian parents thay have like ABG/B offspring and focus more on sports than studies etc

It's not. Gaming is still looked down upon by the millennials who are parents now, even more among people who are older.

It's still not true my guy lmfao. How are you talking as if you have some definite stats to prove all of us wrong but you don't. It's so obvious you didn't grow in a common Asian household or were probably an outlier. Go to any Asian community in any social media and ask them what their parents feel about gaming.

Just from Reddit alone there's like a thousand threads if you search up "asian parents gaming" and most of them are about how their parents are not letting them play games. The main reason why most Asians love gaming is exactly because they are not allowed to enjoy it normally thanks to their parents. The more you tell them not to do something, the more of it they will do. It's definitely not because of "omg we support your career no matter what, go do esports!" lmfaooo. Bro really said "supportive" and "asian parents" in one sentence. Erasing our history of getting beaten up.

bro are you even fucking American 😭😭😭😭 idk why ur so mad maybe don’t listen to internet rage stories and talk to people outside? my parents don’t even like video games but they’re still fine with me playing them, same with most other Asian Americans I know. The hard on games stance from parents has been shrinking more and more in America and Asian Americans especially as more millennials become parents and esports/streaming influence continues to grow

Your individual sample size is more important than the sample size we can see with our eyes? What a fucking clown. Keep waffling buddy. Bro publicly admits that he gets coddled and thinks he's the example lmfaooo

When the fuck did I say supportive???? All I said was more accepted relative to other ethnicities in America, ur just putting words on my mouth to fit ur narrative lmfao and ur assuming shit about my life because of an online opinion go fuck yourself

The first part. The second portion, being more culturally acceptable, might be true but not sure about that. It definitely is at least partially true for Asian Americans of Korean descent.

do the math
2k subs (a lot) = 60k a year + some from eg and sponsorships, probably 200k a year
now if you go to a top uni for cs and make into big tech for something like ai/ml
ik people making upwards of 5 mil/year

it doesn’t matter the money, my brother works as a cs major focused in graphics at one of if not the largest companies/video game companies in the US and is still looked down upon by the family as he is seen as creating videogames that harm children

#28

Culture 110% does have an effect but they also got a serious power trip problem on top of that, if someone is happy, stable, and successful and they still find a way to be disappointed because they think video games harms children they’re really out of touch I feel for ur brother man hope he’s doing well

as someone from china and large asian friendgroup i find its always the boba loving keshi music producer asians with perms and not the computer science usaco usapho aime asians with spikey hair and glasses. but honestly they dont even make up a large part of the asian community maybe the subgroup youre looking at has some selection bias or something
