Question about champs qualifying

So are the teams that have the most points in the region like GenG and edg locked in for champs since they have the most points rn? If so, why are they even playing in this stage? Also how does tie breaker between sen and 100t work?

wait yeah ive been wondering about the same thing. For example, if GENG already qualified, why wouldn't they just lose out of split to give another team a chance?

EDG is the only one who's guaranteed Champions slot through Circuit Points, and just two days ago they lost to Wolves. Technically, GENG have a small chance of losing that spot if they lost all remaining matches (13P), PRX won the rest (15P) and PRX didn't get Top 3 in Playoff.

No? Top 3 in overall standing (group) will not get you anything aside from better seed for top 2. And top 3 from playoff will get you a champ slot, additionally the match held in playoff will grant you a point if you won one match.

It'll be useful for team coming from seed 3-6.

For seeding:
Teams that go into champs out of points count as seed 4 of the region, so they have to play a Seed 1, 2, and 3 of another region

If they win out and get seed 1, they instead get to play a seed 2,3, or 4 of other regions at champs

You get points for every win in 2nd split and 3 for the finals. I dont think playoffs give any points I dont remember, but maybe they do so too.

But basically, since AMER doesnt have a dominant leader 10 for sen and 9 for 100t, teams can catch up and gain more Total points, granting them qualification per Champs point bases.

EDG qualified because no other team can get as many points so even if they throw every game, its fine. TH are not guaranteed champs, theyre guaranteed playoffs for split 2 if anything (I think).

Also because playoffs is done through seedings, china still has to go through with this format.

wait i just realized, points for every win is absoutely insane. Correct me if i'm wrong but up until this point you have only been able to get points for winning masters. I think sen and geng got 5 points each for that. If a team won 5 matches in stage 2 then they could just get 5 points (assuming one point per win). That's so dumb. Image putting winning a tourament on the same level of winning random stage 2 games

in kick off, winning was 3 points (+3 for sen) and then madrid win was also 3 points (+3 for sen) and then games in split 1 were also for points and since sen won 3 games (+3 for sen) and then sen won like 2 days ago so (+1 point for sen); this is how sen got to 10 points. 100t got up to 9 points by just winning 4/5 games (4 points), 2 playoff wins (+2) and then winning finals (+3); so 9 points for 100t.

100T's group plays 5 games, whereas sen's only 4. So 100T can have more points if they make a deeper run.
