What Is Happening to FNC

I am truly baffled as to what is happening. This will be a serious post, no troll. FNC were smacking everyone in 2023, not even a year ago. Genuinely wondering what happened. The meta has seen some changes and I understand that. Gekko, Raze, and some other agents have developed well but it's not like FNC are playing comps that are completely troll either.

I didn't really bat an eye at Madrid because bad splits happen, Shanghai was a little concerning but this team genuinely looks so flat and I truly don't understand how it got flipped so quickly. I don't think its Boaster, it's not like he was fragging out last year anyways. So seriously, wtf is it?

Let's not pretend it was all of 2023

It was a 3 month run. EMEA is weak so domestic results are expected. LOCK//IN was a great tournament for people that don't take risks and play fundamentals, Tokyo was less than a month later.

By the time other teams got their synergy and strategies set, Fnatic got exposed as the mid team they always were. Now they hit the panic button, lost their coach, Boaster is too stressed, getting player diffed on every role, scared Leo away. This team is cooked man, full rebuild coming within the next 18 months.

I mean they were good in Champs. They obviously didn't win but played well at the very least. Sure some of their current matches are close but it feels like it takes a heroic effort from either Chronicle, Leo or Derke to win. It feels like there's no cohesion anymore.

i mean it was extremely lucky bcos they couldve not qualified. but they really had the momentum and the system was perfect cos the players now are being exposed for all their flaws. individually theyre pretty good obviously but together w potter and ziks they were better. the use of a time frame to justify it makes no sense tho. to say only 3 months. yeah well how long are the events as a whole??? it doesnt take up the full year. the same reason why saying its been over a year since any EMEA team has beat an AMER team makes no sense cos majority of the year we are playing in region stuff and its only a couple weeks when we play against each other lmao.

Because meta shifted towards teamfight comps. Fnatic dominated 2023 with slow default-heavy playstyle, but now every team knows how to counter them and they try to adapt with implementing a lot more teamfight-strats, so they need some time to be comfortable with this playstyle.
