Whats yalls thoughts n feelings on this event, I heard some say it was cool, or shitty crowd ect
I wish I could edit title to guys and girls
geometrix [#2]Let me say just one thing: This is far from the best Masters event
hot take 😱
EDIT: Not a hot take im blind
It's nice that It's in a good timezone for me. The crowd is not that knowledgeable about the other teams which is understandable, and the bias to the home crowd is expected. Swiss is giving us some good games which is nice, and I can't wait for Playoffs.
Popularity-wise, maybe not the strongest but the fact that its placed in Shanghai is good for the development of CN interest in Valorant (+ also CN teams can scrim international teams which is a good benchmark testing for them).
Even if CN don't do too much, this event does help them overall.
Psion [#5]this has been the best group stage ever at a masters event, we'll have to see how playoffs is though
edit: maybe masters 3 berlin had a better group stage, but it had 16 teams in groups with no auto-byes as opposed to 8 teams with 4 auto-byes
i feel like this group stage has been kinda mid tho? maybe its because the best teams are in playoffs instead. i found madrids groups a lot more enjoyable than this one

GROUP STAGE RANKING:
I feel like the lack of 'powerhouse' teams hurt the interest of the event a bit (LOUD, SEN, DRX, NAVI). We got teams that aren't at their best (TH) and teams that played really inconsistently either in playoffs or in Shanghai so far (T1, DRG, LEV, FUT, FNC). I guess post-Madrid has been a rough time for pro teams. The matches in Shanghai haven't been super competitive thus far aside from the FPX games (this team has been so entertaining and a breath of fresh air).
sentinelmain377 [#11]GROUP STAGE RANKING:
- M3 Berlin 2021
- Champs 2021
- Champs 2022
- Champs 2023
- LOCK//IN
- Copenhagen 2022
- Tokyo 2023
- Madrid 2024
- Shanghai 2024
- Reykjavik 2022
N/A: Reykjavik 2021
I said MASTERS event, so no champs
Lock\in didn't have a group stage. it either had a bracket stage as VLR has or was 1 whole thing on its own
Tokyo had 1 qualification match that was close(T1 vs NRG, the next closest was a 2-1 with a 13-4 on map 3), and ASE are the worst team among it and even relative to times
Copenhagen is probably above thinking abt it more
the main difference between madrid and shanghai is that china has actually showed up this event, while it was basically not present in 4/5 games they played last time
so shanghai is probably the best of the franchising era (which is only 3 events)

Bro forgot nrg vs navi, the close game full of clutches of navi vs edg (first Chinese win in international)
Tokyo > rest of franchising masters
Also I was just making a ranking for all events, not just masters
Copenhagen group with guild kru optc loud was really good, but nth xia drx and fpx w a sub matches were kinda boring

please read.
neither of Navi's games were QUALIFICATION GAMES
Psion [#19]please read.

Bro?
That's not my point (also so what if it wasn't a qualification match. It was a banger)
Tokyo groups had better matches than Madrid and Shanghai groups
Simple
However, this ranking could change after the mstches we are gonna watch in the next 6 hours

This is true. The group stage this time has been absolutely banging overall.
