Tryna build my first pc and ive sorted out most of the build from youtube videos and here and there, the only thing im still confused about is the gpu, my budget is about 1200 usd and within this budget a lot of people seem to recommend AMD gpus understandably so for the price to performance being good, what i had a question about is from what ive read AMD gpus seem to bug out in Valorant(?) my friend told me AMD gpus and valorant dont go well together so i googled it and a lot of people on reddit seem to think so too but these threads are either very old or have little information, so im wondering whats the difference between these two and does it actually feel significant in game when you play (im asc 3 and i play on a laptop with an external monitor attached so i dont quite know what "optimal" performance is but still wanna invest into the right thing)

it kinda matter. i think nvidia a bit more solid with their core feature and less driver problem but much more expensive, while amd is cheaper and performs better budget wise, some of their feature are weird and amd driver sucks dick. if you are on a budget, i think AMD gpus are great though.
i've used both of them. rtx2060 (current rig) and rx570 (in the past).
AMD drivers really dont suck anymore its just an age old stereotype thats never been given up by the general community. Its also a lot of confirmation bias. Me personally ive run 2 Nvidia GPUs in valorant and 2 older AMD gpus being the 560 and the 5500 both AMD gpus were completely fine and i never faced any problems. If anything once i switched to my 970 and then 1650 (1650 has less problems) ive been getting a lot of stuttering, crashing (really REALLY bad on the 970), and sometimes even artifacting + invisible characters (tho tbf this only happens when i have ridiculous packet loss)
Both are fine honestly if you buy the newer ones. Valorant is coded well enough to work on both as long as you dont mess with stupid settings that dont need to be touched.
nah believe me, i've been using r5 340 and rx570 for years it really was sucks. maybe not for the newer driver, but holy shit those old amd drivers were bad. and i also used the old gt210 and gtx750, both were great with less driver issues like amd does.
now i don't really know what's the current state the amd driver are, probably much better than ever. and i did recommend amd gpus for valorant in my post, you know.
I do play a lot of other games besides valorant but i dont mind playing my single player games on slightly lower settings if it means i get fps (im used to playing games on the lowest settings possible since my current laptop has a ryzen 5 4600h and a 1650ti) im just concerned about any funny stuff happening like stutters and stuff while im playing valorant which would be pretty tilting even after spending nearly 1 lakhs on a pc
agreed, but in most titles you won't need FSR unless you want to ray trace or you're trying to use an older AMD GPU for AAA games and use FSR to make up for it.
if you're getting a 6800xt (this is for 1440p) or better and you don't use ray tracing, you shouldn't ever need to use FSR for 60+ FPS
if you want ray tracing, you'll have to use FSR which yeah is a lot worse than DLSS on top of generally AMD cards not being good at ray tracing yet.
lol this might be a dumb question but when you mention clipping do you mean clips as in sick shots you hit, an ace you got or do you mean shit just starts clipping into each other in-game due to the graphics card fucking up the rendering or something, cause i kinda dont mind dealing with the shitty UI if it means ill save some cash

if you're a new builder don't use it, but if you're a more experienced builder and know what to enable/disable and comfortable in BIOS, an Arc A770 is INSANE for the price especially with the newer drivers and updates Intel is releasing. thing goes crazy for the price.
