do you guys think they win any match?
geospliced [#2]Against the 2nd CN seed
they didnt say the format yet right? so if i had to guess or rather i prefer it to be like 2 round robin groups of 4 teams(2 first seeds and 2 second seeds) and a double elim 4 team play offs but given that its a 10 day event, its probably going to just a 8 team double elim all throughout with a first seed vs second seed matchup for round 1
Swiss stage
Assuming they lose tomorrow they will face a nr. 1 seed in their opening game so that will most likely be a loss and then they will play a team that also lost their first game so that could be a W with a lucky draw but yeah most likely not.
Paper Rex, EDG, Americas and EMEA teams will be better.

PRX wont meet with geng. theyll make it in such a way that same region can only meet in play off bracket
most are underrating geng, but it all depends on how munchkin/lakia are calling & shooting on the day. t3xture, meteor, karon are monsters, but lakia is a weak link. i think they could probably beat any chinese team (including edg) and maybe a team like TH, SEN, or even LEV/NRG (but highly unlikely). the chances of them beating a navi/fnc/loud is close to zero

CN 2nd seed is a given
EMEA 2nd seed / EDG should be a fair contest
Astar [#16]i really think they have a chance against any of china and EMEA teams bar fnatic. except only NA teams they looking so stacked. t3xture firepower might prove to be the differences
EMEA actually looks great this year, I don't think GENG could beat the 2nd seed coming out of EMEA.

I think EMEA looks great right now, even Team Heretics look like they can compete in a major. As for EDG, it all depends on how they're doing. If they play like they did during the off season, GENG could probably stick several forks into them and set them alight; but if EDG is playing like they did at Tokyo then EDG should probably win. Oh well, we'll see how EMEA playoffs turn out and how EDG is very soon!

its gonna be a surprise factor who will decide the winner since both teams probably will attend first international event. i still cant even predict who will qualify for 2nd spot EMEA roster changes proven to be so impactful than any other regions

Yeah, EMEA looks so much better than they did last year.
VINNYdeuS [#15]If the format was double-elim we wouldn't have such a weak representative for madrid. GenG is doing ZERO damage.
which other team could you possibly think would do more damage than Gen G

tbh lakia has so much potential. if they try to abuse that they might actually do great as a roster. his cutches are insane

me too but vct has always been unpredictable, you can see underestimated team like Team Secret destroying Team Liquid on lock/in, or DRX going crazy against Loud and NaVi on champs

I mean, that's what makes it so interesting no? The potential upsets, the potential cinderella storylines, all those shebangs. Ig it's in my nature to try to predict these things but you're absolutely correct.

looks like even i underestimated geng yesterday
it makes it difficult to guage their level at the moment, but they are certainly better than edward and have climbed to the top echelon at this point

I agree. Edward really wasn't all too impressive yesterday.
