Despite the fact that three popular teams - VIT, KC, and G8 - have moved to the EMEA League, it has the second most viewers in the entire ongoing tier2 scene (the most popular being Japan).
Below are the viewership numbers for the tier2 scene as confirmed by Liquipedia.
Japan : Average 106426, Highest 232477
France : Average 16183, Highest 50371
Turkey :Average 6611, Highest 22258
Spain : Average 3973, Highest 13826
Polaris: Average 971, Highest 2412
Portugal: Average 894, Highest 1927

What is even more surprising is not that any particular team is gaining viewers, but that the league as a whole is popular.
According to Esports Charts , the five most-watched matches were as follows Of the eight teams participating in the league, seven of them, not including Monaco Esports, are included.

DVM vs JobLife : 50371
Mandatory vs Solary : 32325
Valiant vs JobLife : 30506
Mandatory vs ZERANCE : 28670
Mandatory vs Akroma : 25210

The overall trend is that regions with a thriving CS2 competition scene tend to have a less thriving VALORANT competition scene, but France is a complete exception. Why?

This is probably due to the success of teams owned by very popular streamers such as Kameto and Gotaga. It is the result of their audience's interest in the French competitive scene itself.

At least, the popularity in France is definitely more accompanied by competence than the popularity in Japan. lol

Frankly, I am anxious to see if the BR Challengers, which starts in a few days, will be exciting.

France has an abundance of streamer orgs with big fanbases and big costreams.

Joblife has a strong fanbase. jltomy costreams the games.
Mandatory has ZeratoR.
DVM entered the league recently aswell, dvm_medja often costreams the games.

Most of the costreams will have thousands of viewers and almost every organisation has a costreamer tied to them.
(In the case of JLtomy its normally 10k+)
France also has a developing "ultras" scene with super invested fans generating enormous amounts of engagements.

I don't know the details, but it appears that a team owned by a very popular streamer is participating.

Can't expect much from viewership from a league which had its reputation ruined by the last TO

I hope there will be more teams like them in other regions. I especially admire DSG Toast's dedication to the competitive scene.

Well, when the NA Challengers opens, NA will be the second most watched region.
