I don't think so, this is seeding for Berlin which actually matters a lot. It's not seeding for another qualifier. And also, these two teams has been battling since a long time ago, I doubt any of them will troll. Maybe not with everything on the line but at least they will try their best.

Most people think Berlin is going to have groups. 4 groups of 4 with the top 2 teams from each group moving into a double elimination bracket.
If you're seeded 1st in NA you're group will most likely be MUCH easier than if you are the 3rd seed.

I think you answered your own question, double initiator allows for a strong attacking half so they felt they could win attack but they were just cold on the map/less prepared than they thought.
