Didn't Riot come out and say they didn't wanna normalize game changers or grow it, cause they want this to be as a practice tournament for women to be able to join the VCT long term?

Yeah, they did, which is really stupid, I hope in the future that GC and VCT merge and VCT has women playing in it but thats not gonna happen by having one extremely small event a year it doesn't give these girls the experience or practice needed to grow.

Its like the NBA G League... they dont want you to stay at GC level... it should drive you to wanting to get to the next level not stay at the same level. thats why the g league is so shitty they dont want you to STAY in shit. you think mel, flor or even sarah wants to stay at the GC Level ? Who would want to leave GC and play in T2 when GC is paying $500k ($180k to 1st place) while T2 pay pennies? Also, GC has much more visibility than T2 (with the exception of maybe NA, where T2 actually matter a bit).
