From a terrible public image to alot of high profile people behind the scenes leaving.
(Although alot of the people resigning were under heavy criticism)

A former player , sumail, is also suing the organisation for fraud and deceit. With the case now heading to trial.

As of now, the main stance on SumaiL’s side is that EG “took advantage of a young, naïve and vulnerable” player through multiple poorly explained agreement

Incompetence around handling a pro players mental health. (Danny)

Knowing that in about 2 years that Riot will have to evaluate all the partnered teams and decide who stays and who goes, if this contract jail stuff is true with EG and they really aren't letting their players go because they want them to stay on with pay cuts, along with all this other stuff is slowly coming out about them, I could see Riot not wanting to give them another contract. Even despite the fact that they won champions, Riot have proven that just because you've had a good performance, it doesn't guarantee you a spot in franchising (e.g teams like The Guard, Xerxia and EMEA FPX not being picked up for the first season of franchising, though I might be wrong about FPX because I dont quite remember whether they planned the Chinese region swap before or after franchising EDIT: How the hell did I also forget about Optic). Not to mention they dropped G2 last minute at the start of last season because of the Tate incident, so Riot is also not scared to drop teams if they have bad PR or are just doing some questionable moves.

they had 10 fans, got organically popular cause their team was good. and now back to 10 fans cause they can't do social media. have 0 engaging content on their Youtube. Can't make any merch for their fans to spend money on, and are now alienating their own players by being stupid with contract jail

This is how eg is in every game. Controversial and sometimes just scummy org, but the players are more likable. They always find good talent, but their awful management screws up it without fail. Just look at the whole Danny fiasco in League

lots of esports orgs are owned/started by people related to gaming or at least passionate about gaming. an investment group took over eg whose only priority is to fatten their linked in profiles

they had 2 teams 'FPX' in EMEA and 'FPX zhuque' in china when they didn't get into franchising they named their Chinese roster as FPX

if Riot were threatening to kick RRQ and terminated G2 over their controversies, then surely this is cause for EG to be sent packing right?

no way they stay in franchise after all of this right? this is all too fucked for them to continue to play in americas

Even if Riot kicks EG out of franchise, the players are still in a contract jail. They can’t do shit, until the contract expires. Riot can’t intervene between a contract made by EG and it’s players. So yaa! EG players are screwed either way. Either they’ll have to take the pay cut or sit on the sidelines and wait for the contract to get over.

I heard Demon1 and ethan got offered 100k for the buyout but EG rejected it. Pretty dick move if you ask me. Shows your malicious intent and you not having any respect towards players
