They're not actually bad. Or well, their performance itself didn't drop
They barely lost to EDG who went on to shit on LOUD and almost beat TL
They got a map off NRG.
I think KOI might actually just be goated
of course they arent bad, they have 5 fucking winners on their team and an established core. they are simply overcooking their comps and not sticking with what plays into their strengths. they have played lotus 10 times this year and have run 8 different comps. that should be a red flag already. this team needs to go back to what works well for them. none of this bullshit that they are currently trying to innovate is going to pay off.
I can't help but have a soft spot for that kind of thinking though. "We already won a masters, let's try to experiment as much as possible and figure out the best way to play this game using a comp that nobody has tried before, even if it makes us look like fools in the process--until we finally figure it out"
I really want them to figure out how to play Yoru correctly
this is understandable, but clearly none of it is working. its okay to experiment and try to innovate new comps, as did eg, c9, and loud on fracture, lotus, and pearl, respectively, but they have been doing this for almost the entire season and none of it has worked. there is clearly something that isnt clicking for them. now, they are one loss away from not even qualifying to champions, even with two extra lcq spots gifted by fnc. this isnt the time to be running brim on lotus anymore. this team has so much potential that is being fucking wasted because either ange1 or doombros cant use their brains.
that isnt exactly their problem, any comp which fulfills the fundamental rules of the game can work but it seems that they have no idea how to play to their own comp's strengths and that they only have a borderline idea of how the comp works and just play into it, theres no deeper playbook or set strats and protocols.
