Not posible, the ascended team has protection, is not the org who ascended, its the players

Yeah thats definitely one thing I dislike about franchising. Teams that are better than some franchised teams have to play throughout the year just to maybe get a spot, and then only be in a couple years then repeat the process

Franchising rosters who got shit on are going to be looking for new players once LCQ is over, so any good teams who don't make it will probably get their best players poached by franchised teams. So it will probably be ok. Kinda the way the ecosystem is supposed to work.
