Yes. It was a major with a bad format. A badly structured major is still a major. It doesn’t take away the fact that FNATIC are the first team to win two “majors”, not to mention back-to-back.
VCT and Riot considers Lock/In a Val equivalent of a major....it doesn't matter what anybody else thinks imo....I mean it's Ur game and Ur tournament....so I'm sure I will not be the one to decide...which tournament is a major and which isn't.... people really like to cope tho.... it's hard for them to digest this
For sure, lock in was a tournament with a very poor format, although is the tournament with the most teams. Sure ppl will say since majority of the teams were new and bairly played together, but the same happened to fnatic. They added 2 new players aswell and did an incredible run and ppl still kept saying it was a lucky run, now with tokyo, ppl wont say that anymore. Now the teams and fans will fear fnatic on champions.
Tbh, in my opinion any international stage is a big major. Ppl will complain now but i see any masters the same as champions. Champions only have few extra teams with less quality. The pressure of any international event is the same, being champions or not.
