Accolades wise, yes EMEA is the best region so far, with Americas close behind and pacific somewhere in the nether, but with the results of the group stages so far being at least somewhat shocking like eg clearing DRX and navi losing to edg, it relates back to emea being a fraud region

True if you take all Fighting games...but that would be like taking all MOBAs or all FPS into one category and then you have an even larger spread between them and the "major" eSports like Dota, LoL, CS etc.
Imo I'd say if you can't have it as a full-time job as a pro player I wouldn't consider it in the top tier as it is largely tied to viewership and therefor sponsoring.

In LoL LEC teams at least sometime make it out of groups and be mildly competitive against Asian representatives. And the good player go chase the bag in LCS after a few seasons (can't blame them)

If FIFA draws in big viewership I wouldn't mind calling it a big esport, most esport players don't make a full-time job salary. Fighting games like smash do draw in sponsorships and viewership, but most of the money goes towards the people running the event, which can vary
