What do you think? If most of the remaining NA CS players had switched to Val in 2020 they could be making the 35-40k per month salaries and get to play from LA for most of the year.

half of the NA scene came to valorant when it was first released which was before they had an esports scene or competitive at all, the game was totally brand new and everybody used their skills from CS in valorant
the game has evolved so much over nearly 3 years, nowadays your cs skill doesnt translate to valorant
so you're wrong, a prime example is Stewie who was ok at csgo but is dogshit in valorant and now is dogshit in cs too

first of all valorant is mechanically a easier game compared to cs if you are a tier 2 pro in cs and decent you can easily be a tier 1 level player in valorant if you grind and give the same effort with valo already being mechanically easier if you can adapt to the mechanics you have all the tools you need to become good, also stewie being "okay" in cs is the funniest thing ive heard he was literally one of the most washed players ever at the end of his career
t2 cs is way more lucrative than t2 val tho atm
there are a decent amount of t2 tourneys with good prize pools, and the path to recognition by a t1 team has never been freer
i feel most val players, if they put as much effort into grinding out cs and they did val, could easily make it in t2 NA and possibly even ascend to t1, and the influx of new talent along with the clout some of these players possess could spark some form of revival in the scene. idk
there is 3 t1 na teams.
the t2 orgs in csgo are not paying anywhere near the amount of what t2 valorant does.
t2 valorant has big names like Faze/TSM/g2, csgo has davenport uni
and the influx of new talent along with the clout some of these players possess could spark some form of revival in the scene
these are all hypotheticals and we will probably wont see that.
switching to csgo now (especially if you have a good platform) is almost career suicide.
theres way more interest in valorant content right now than csgo
ye that makes more sense tbh
i didnt consider challenger teams when i thought through this (i basically considered them t1), and was mostly focusing on teams/players that didn't make challengers
it would also make more sense for the non-challenger players to keep grinding Valorant in the hopes of getting picked up by a challenger team rather than switching and having to start over
in fairness there this new tournament in NA called CCT which is like a big cash cup. 25k prize pool runs every few months for the t2 and below teams. Which is happening NA csgo a bit.
Another issue is its not just NA teams playing in these tournaments, Brazilian teams have moved up because the tournaments are better. You got mibr, oNe, atk (south african) playing in these NA tournaments and winning,
yeah pretty much.
csgo has steered towards being this "perfect competitive" game.
this is good for esports but for content... theres only so many times you can watch people play pug matches over and over again.
and the game is old as shit so most of the content has been done already.
valorant is pretty fresh and kinda less repetitive
way more little niches for content creators to play and more frequent updates.
ig the game just started dying. literally 3+ years ago this game had so much content is insane
bunch of fragmovies, memes, compilations, insane plays basically every match and the highest level of any other FPS game profissionally
after years passed and players stopped playing the content fell off together with the game
t2 na cs players (NA's tier 1 has only one team in it and it's chokequid) get more salary than t2 val players.even bots like brehze and cerq are getting paid 40k a month so switching to val for the dough for them is pretty poor and immature career choice maybe because of boredom honestly i wholeheartedly agree with #14
