valorant genuinely unplayable

For the last 6 months or so I've been barely playing valorant because I get severe packet loss any time I'm close to 1 or more opponents.

I get a "network problem" notification at the top of my screen, 30-50% packet loss, and rubberband around everywhere, making aim duels impossible

has anyone experienced this problem and knows a fix?

I am on wifi and unfortunately cannot do ethernet

I was hoping there would be a fix that isn't requiring ethernet

ethernet solves everything

that is not an option for me

only ethernet plugin in my house (live with parents) is a ways away and across a hallway and they won't let me run a cord across

there's numerous fixes on the internet so you can reduce the packet loss but it will never fully go away without ethernet just letting you know

Do you think you could get a powerline adapter? It allows you to use Ethernet from farther distances without running a cable

best fps to avoid screen tearing? 144hz monitor

just put it as high as you can hit without it being 'uncapped'

dont do this^. always stick within multiples of your refresh rate.
eg. 144hz display - if you can hit 144fps stable cap at that, if you can hit 288fps stable cap at that, if you can hit 432fps stable cap at that.

There is no magic solution that lets you keep using Wi-Fi my brother in christ, ethernet cable is the way

My best solution living with shitty wifi was using a wifi extender where my pc was and then connecting to that with an ethernet cable
Like this one that I used to use
Ethernet is the best solution, but this was the next best thing for me as it doesnt require drivers to be installed on your computer like a wifi card does

Powerline adapter is the only way to fix this given your problems. They’re like $50 tho

maybe something to do with your ISP, i also had packet loss issues playing consistently with over 20% packet loss even though i have ethernet but after i gave them a call most of it went away
