idk i missed it i am dumb af but why was purp0 playing instead of jady?
nikoya [#2]my guess would be that it was because chronicle didn't want to or wasn't comfortable playing Jett.
k cool thanks
Mjtchell [#3]They signed purp0 specifically for Jett so they could do Chamber Jett combo kinda like XSet
hsa jady been playing jett at all? i havent seen.

you mean purp0?
Luck_ [#4]k cool thanks
yeah, definitely a questionable decision if I'm right though. Really put Purp0 in a bad spot and did him dirty. They just sort of threw him in the deep end. It would've been okay if Chronicle had a pop-off map... but unfortunately, he did not. Oh well....
zyzyck [#7]jady doesn't play jett + chronicle not comfortable on jett = purp0 can play and is comfortable on jett
unfortunately, it wasn't that simple :(
purp0 got thrown in map four of the grand finals when his last official time playing was over a month ago
I have no idea why they thought it would be a good idea, even if they had been practicing with him, but oh well. It was a risk and it didn't pay off.

Feel real bad for purp0 tho..

yea it was a risk but the team already played breeze (their map pick) and lost the map to liquid in upper finals, chronicle didn’t have much impact as jett that time, and with the chamber meta and map like breeze it feels like such change is a very good idea on paper. unfortunately it didnt work out due to different factors but that’s much better than not changing anything. if their idea worked everybody would be praising them for it tbh. in the end, nt.

I agree that they needed to change something, but I disagree that the change was a good idea even on paper. It was sort of meh. Even on paper, it was still very evidently extremely high risk, and I feel that they weighed the pros and cons rather poorly, at least at that moment. It really hinged on Chronicle having an insane game. I understand the logic of course, and I always support confidence. If Chronicle was confident and the rest of the team believed in him then I can't really say anything on that. But in the end, it didn't work and neither was it surprising nor unexpected in the slightest. Now their year is over. Hate to be a hindsight harry, but they did throw Purp0 in at map match point... oh well... They'll come back I'm sure. Not worried about that.
