WHEN I DONT CARE ABOUT VAL I WIN MOST GAMES
WHEN I START TRYHARDING I LOOSE EVERYTHING
MY MOM CAN CALL ME AND ILL STILL ACE OR GO CRAZY
BUT WHEN IM LOCKED IN I GET INSTANTLY ONE TAPPED AND MY AIM BECOMES RUSTY
WHY?
trying too hard = stressed, tense, overthinking, overdoing movements trying to be better
not trying = not thinking, too slow, not paying attention fully
relaxed, but locked in (flowstate) = relaxed, loose, thinking ahead but not overthinking, calm smooth movement

I'd recommend this video about it, but generally the best athletes and players are ones who can reach a state of calm while still trying and putting in effort. it's really hard to achieve, but possible.
i mean its pretty obvious, if you dont care about the outcome or are distracted with something else you arent too worried about the repurcussions in the case of you dying or whiffing, so therefore you dont have additional pressure to hit ur shots
however if youre fully focussing on the game and you care about your performance you will put additional pressure and then start to perform worse and worse after every whiff ending in a disaster
