Velocity not getting franchised their owner just told now on his stream and if vlt can’t make it there’s no chance EG is getting that slot
only reason i put GE is honestly cus of the huge numbers they could pull viewership-wise
Vlt can pull even more viewers but GE is a pretty well established org
If the orgs don’t have money then they won’t get a slot. The roster will most likely be bought out.
I feel like order is a lock for franchising, and it should be noted that it's all one asian league.
i think TS xerxia Prx bleed is a lock, from SA maybe GE, if the franchise combined with jp/kr then drx and zeta is a lock too, one slot left maybe 1 team from ID or OCE
But South America is going to be lumped into NA, I could see them doing NA, EMEA, and Asia as the only regions. Especially since JP and KR have like 2.5 teams combined.

riot have some weird criteria, it's possible imo. would kind of make sense because of KR LoL presence and JP viewership, but it would fuck over SEA and SA

Franchising is not based on region but rather on orgs. So hypothetically RIOT can choose 3 orgs from Indonesia if they fit the criteria. Thats how franchising works in EU as well. It doesn't matter if the org is from Denmark or Poland as long its profitable orgs which brings good money to RIOT. Since APAC teams are so nationalistic RIOT can do something like 3 players per sub-region in 1 team.

- Team Secret (definitely known org and PH fanbase are massive)
- PRX (the most succesful team so far even though the org is new, there is a chance a big org buy them though)
- ORDER (biggest org in Australia after Renegades)
- DRX (most succesful KR team)
- ZETA (biggest JP org)
- Edward Gaming (if the team doesn't change org)
- DAMWON? (they're big org in KR with massive fanbase)
- XERXIA (most succesful thai team. if the team isnt being bought by MITH ofc)
- BOOM (biggest org in Indonesia)
- Global Esports (edited: I forgot about South Asian scene lol)
If China isn't included yet then probably the spot will go to KR/other international org then
PRX , Order and BOOM are unlikely and also RIOT dont give a shit about fanbase they only care about how much money the org will bring them and it also doesn't depend on the region of the org because at the end these orgs will represent whole APAC not just 1 country/sub-region.
that's the more reason for riot to get a big org that have massive fanbase in every areas = more money. The team is very likely to be the most important priority. Don't be surprised if some EU/NA org is actually planting their org here in Asia if they don't have the franchise slots in their region.
Yes that probably what will end up happening or can see the possibility or some other org enter APAC. EU/NA are their top priority just because how established they already are.
its just because they have more money and already have established org and fanbase. But I can see the same for chinese org tbh. (they are rich too, FPX is a chinese org btw)
edward gaming is a massive org in local chinese community. and the team at the moment is the best at their respective region. the problem lies on the team whether on which org they want to stay, if they keep performing at their level. China have a lot of huge esports org that maybe can offer more money to the team. (the likes of LGD, IG)
Bleed is a huge singapore org. If they get the spot there's a chance they might buy PRX then. Or it could work vice-versa. The current team at the moment just doesnt cut it.
PRX cant buy BLEED . Bleed are for sure getting the slot and they have good funding and even support from SG government and also they care about SG local talent. They are doing so much like Academy team , Bleed summer Tourneys for SG + other regions and their owner is also looking for a GC team. PRX have done none of that and their performance at International is irrelevant to Franchising.
if that's the case then for sure Bleed will buy PRX lol. Obviously the team owner wants a better result.
