idk it made sense in my head

posted 3 months ago

I never understood the point of calling chips fraudulent or mickey mouse. Calling the tourneys these names implies they were easier but then doesn't that make your team look bad? That they couldn't even win the mickey mouse cup let alone a "non-fraudulent" trophy? Maybe I'm overthinking it but it just doesn't make sense lol.

posted 3 months ago

Actually probably not a good idea. I looked it up and each playoffs win is a point. If they bomb out on purpose, and G2, 100T or Leviatan win the event, they'd be fucked. They have to try at least a little.

posted 3 months ago

huh?

posted 3 months ago

Do playoffs matches count for champs points? If they don't and SEN win their last game against G2, is it even worth it to try in playoffs? Since they'd be guaranteed to champs I feel like it'd make more sense to just play it like ranked games and save strats.

I think 100T takes it 2-1.

Map 1 - 13-8 EG
Map 2 - 15-13 100T
Mape 3 - 13-10 100T

100T just had a good confidence and momentum boost against MIBR and EG just had their momentum halted by Leviatan. I think it'll be a great game regardless.

Of course brudda, keep learning and trying. Don't be discouraged. Most natives, me included, get excited when they hear a non-native speaking their language and think its dope. They won't care about the level you're at :)

posted 3 months ago

Furia>100T was also physically impossible. C9 literally got 13-2d by the old Furia. The current furia would give them a run for their money and arguably win.

I don't see how 100T over either of those teams is crazy. Maybe not popular but crazy is not the word I'd use.

Welcome back everyone, I've gotten lots of positive feedback on these lists so far so thank you for your nice comments. These lists give me something to do at work while I'm bored out of my mind.

Going forward, I will be making these weekly but for playoffs and champs. I will incorporate an EMEA list as well. I will not be making a Pacific or China list as I am not as knowledgeable on those scenes and am not the right person to speak on them.

Please refer to my previous threads to get an idea of my thought process and to see where these teams ranked previously.

https://www.vlr.gg/364950/very-very-early-americas-split-2-rankings

https://www.vlr.gg/368848/updated-americas-split-2-rankings

  1. SEN - Nothing much has changed for SEN. They haven't played their final game yet but I still feel confident putting them in the first place. The reason why I have them over LEV is not because they have more firepower or a skill diff, but because we've seen them in international competition. LEV bombed out pretty hard in Shanghai despite having a great regular season. SEN won Madrid and at this point have shown more against international opponents. If LEV can come into Champs swinging, they have a chance to overtake SEN especially if they struggle to keep leads. It does seem like SEN is aware of this and is actively working on it though.

  2. LEV - While LEV definitely has an easier split 2, this can be said for all the teams in the Omega group. Despite this, they have won all of their matches in a convincing fashion. My remarks from last week remain true this week. This team is heating up and it is the perfect time for Tex and King to get going. While not hard fraggers, Mazino and c0m have the util usage and the clutch ability to get them important rounds as well. Things look good for LEV at this moment.

  3. G2 - With their win against KRU, I'm still certain this is a good team. Like I said last week, the only thing that concerns me is the choke factor and them not being able to make those crazy comebacks all the time. Map 2 against KRU was a bittersweet feeling. G2 was able to close it out and get the series win which a good sign but they were pushed to the limit. I fear other teams that are at Champs level will not let them get back into the game. Other than that, solid team.

  4. 100T - A lot of people may disagree with me because I am ranking 100T over EG but hear me out. MIBR was the perfect stepping stone to reset the 100T mental and for them to start heating up again. An easy match where your players can frag out and gain some confidence. Leviatan helped 100T a lot by stopping the momentum of EG and it is the perfect timing for 100T to beat EG. This is EG's first loss since beating Sentinels and I'm curious to see how they bounce back but I am going on momentum and right now 100T looks to have it.

  5. EG - They're a great team undoubtedly but that loss against Leviatan stings. We haven't seen how this team plays after having their momentum slowed. They've shown that they can bounce back. They started the whole season abysmally slow and turned up but I want to see how they do once they get a win streak snapped. Will they crumble or continue ahead? I love potter and Jawg but I think I take Ziks and Boostio to capitalize off of their momentum.

  6. KRU - I'm very torn about this spot. I think dropping Klaus was a mistake but KRU are not playing terrible. Even in their losses, they are taking teams to the limit and losing off small mistakes. This was expected with a replacement so late into the season but I think they have the ability to bounce back. Like I said before, despite their loss streak, I think this team is right on the cusp of having it figured out. I think they'll beat C9 and head into playoffs with a good boost of confidence.

  7. FURIA - Their season is over but I am happy to see this team turn things around. While xand is not a fragger, I think he gives the experience and leadership this Furia team really desperately needed. Not much to say for this team and the rest of this list, their seasons are over. I'll just be talking about the team and what they accomplished.

  8. C9 - I predicted that they could take the win over C9 last week but I didn't think they'd do it, especially on a 12-5 deficit. Oxy played out of his mind and they closed out the map. They're still in playoffs contention but I think they'll get beat by KRU unless Oxy has the game of his life. It is a nice boost of confidence though, and just in time for the most important match of this split. We'll see how their match against KRU goes.

  9. NRG - What a painful loss to put the final nail in the coffin for this NRG team. They couldn't close it out and this might arguably be the worst loss they've had this season. This is probably the final time the optic core stays together and is the end of an era. Lots of questionable decisions made this season whether its because of staffing, roles, etc. I hope FNS and s0m stay to build a better team next season.

  10. LOUD - A brutal end to the season and I fear this might be it for this LOUD core with Less, Cauanzin, Tuyz, and Saadhak. More than likely this team and the coach will be stripped in the off-season. Hopefully, they keep Saadhak and let him make the important decisions. With Saadhak and Pancada at the helm, there's a lot of potential, just need to make the right roster moves.

  11. MIBR - gg

TL;DR:

SEN
LEV
G2
100T
EG
KRU
FURIA
C9
NRG
LOUD
MIBR

posted 3 months ago

There is literally no chemistry in that team, you chose two of the LOUD players who speak barely any English lol. Aspas is definitely better than Less in terms of English but that team would also be so fucking expensive.

posted 3 months ago

I fucking love FNS but with the direction the game is going, I'd rather him save face, change roles, and still be in the league than drown in this aggressive duelist meta. The days of the no aim, all brain IGLs will slowly die out, there's too much mobility and the players are only getting more cracked. I think long term it'd be way better for him to coach, and train the next IGL in the process than to drag out his IGLing career. He's already a goat, has nothing more to prove IMO.

posted 3 months ago

Here is what I think is the best thing that NRG can do for the next year.

  • Chet is like 95% gone at this point. Aside from fan pressure, he already wants to return to CS. Please just let him go.
  • Scrap the Optic core. It was a fun experiment when franchising started but I fear we're just dragging it. Victor and Crashies just need too much going for them to be viable options.
  • Put FNS as a coach to replace Chet, and build around s0m, Ethan, and Demon1. That should be your main core. This core isn't very cliquey and should mesh well with FNS and s0m having played together and Ethan and s0m having played together in the old NRG.
  • Poach the rest of your players from T2. There is so much talent this year in the Americas T2 scene and it should be relatively easy to poach them.

What ya'll think?

posted 3 months ago

Yea but to be fair its not like they have an expensive team. They're probably paying Jawg and Potter the money they should be while underpaying the rest of the team. At least that's my guess.

posted 3 months ago

The only players I don't see getting locked back up are Buzz, Saya, and Victor. The rest should be resigned unless the orgs are braindeaddd. I can see Keznit also leaving just because he wants to.

I don't think Saadhak will leave. I think they'll fire the head coach, Less will leave, and they rebuild the team and hire new staff based on Saadhak's recommendations. IMO Saadhak is the most important person on that roster.

This is a follow up to my previous thread:
https://www.vlr.gg/364950/very-very-early-americas-split-2-rankings

  1. SEN - I feel more confident putting SEN at first at this point and time. Their biggest problem at this point is maintaining leads but they look way better in terms of closing out close games and keeping their composure. They looked to hit another peak against C9 and I personally think they'll either close out the Split without dropping a map or lose to G2 2-1 in a very close game.

  2. LEV - This team finally looks very polished. All the pressure isn't on Aspas and he isn't the solo hero anymore. Tex and King are turning up just in time for Champs. Their wins against 100T and EG were very very impressive and if they can keep up this form, I see them getting a high placements in Champs.

  3. G2 - Despite everyone saying "friendships don't win chips," G2 goes against the grain and continues to impress with their performance fresh from Shanghai. The reason why I dropped them one tier is because I'm wary of them throwing maps/making comebacks. At this point almost all of their wins include a large comeback and I'm not sure how sustainable that is. Come champs, I'm not sure if teams will let them get back in the game.

  4. EG - This EG team looks niceee man. Goes to show some good coaching and a confidence boost can rely fortify a team's performance. Their performance from the end of Split 1 has carried over and Jawg is playing out of his mind at the moment, debatably being the best entry duelist in the game. With Potter's anti-stratting and Nature's mid-rounding getting better, this team can make a good run at champs.

  5. KRU - They gave Sentinels a run for their money after not having played since Split 1. They looked very solid and made some silly mistakes. I'm not sure how I feel about dropping a player this late in the season. I think they have some real firepower with heat and Keznit. At this point, mta is either going to complete the team or they will bomb out due to a roster change so late.

  6. 100T - This team is suffering a slump late in the season. When firing on all cylinders, they are one of the most fun teams to watch with all the confidence and trash talking. I'm not sure if they can regain form with Champs right around the corner. I trust Boostio and Ziks so I'm leaning on a nice comeback in Playoffs. They just need to close out the Split strong and build some momentum. The losses against Furia and LEV were bad. I just hope the drama hasn't created any rifts between the players.

  7. Furia - I know, I'm just as surprised at having Furia so high but they really have made a big effort to change their team so late in the season and so far it looks good. They beat 100T and kept up with LOUD. Don't get it twisted, LOUD is a great team with roster issues. The individual firepower is still there. They got stomped by EG but EG currently has a lot of momentum. I'm curious to see how this team performs in their last two games but they seem to have it figured out for the most part, unlike some of the teams below them.

  8. NRG - It's painful to put NRG this low. I loved the Optic core and its one of the reason why I got into pro val. But at this point it might be time to just stop the experiment. Pujan and s0m were put in a really difficult position to turn a team all the way around and I just dont see it happening. This teams mental boomed as soon as they missed a second event. The roster is also questionable, with Demon1 sitting in the dust. I think at this point it might just be time to run it back for next year.

  9. C9 - As I've said in my previous thread, I have no faith in C9. They had an inflated record in split 1 and I would not be surprised if they lost out this split. Oxy has slowed down a bit but he is a future star and C9 would be stupid to not build around him next split. They might snag a win against NRG at their current state but that's all I see for them at this point.

  10. LOUD - My sentiments carry over from the previous thread. It's unfortunate because the individual talent on this team is great, they just can't figure out their roles. I lowered them not just because of their performance but I think the mental will also be gone with the loss against Furia, brazilian fans hammering them with hate, and the drama with their coaach.

  11. MIBR - They are still fucked.

TL;DR:

  1. SEN
  2. LEV
  3. G2
  4. EG
  5. KRU
  6. 100T
  7. Furia
  8. NRG
  9. C9
  10. LOUD
  11. MIBR

I'm not replicating that. Aspas, Sacy and Pancada were real-life friends though. While Aspas didn't have a problem with Less, Sacy did. After they left, and conditions got worse, there was no reason for him to stay anymore.

FNC 3
LOUD 2

Literally broke the team after this kek

posted 3 months ago

I literally just created a thread about this. Choosing Less over Sacy, Aspas, and Pancada is the biggest mistake they've ever made.

posted 3 months ago

The biggest mistake LOUD made was choosing Less over Aspas and Sacy. It's clear from their individual streams that Pancada, Sacy, and Aspas are very close. That's honestly the main core you need with Saadhak. I can't believe they chose to scrap the whole Championship winning roster to keep Less instead of appeasing to the others.

Translation:

Blue - "Bro, you understand that loud is like the biggest opportunity of your career, right? and you're throwing it in the trash. Duelist sadhak? For the love of god man. How difficult is it to do something simple?"

Gray - "Greater opportunity why? And it's just one of several companies I've worked for in esports, and I've won for all of them. And how do you think the team works? It's so much ignorance or lack of information that I feel sorry for scolding you"

Blue Again - "If you think that Loud is just another Brazilian team within Valorant, you really aren't seeing the very market you're working in. Even saying this is disrespectful to the organization you are representing. I think the coach has to have the final say within a team, or he has a great influence on it. If you see the team making questionable choices, it is your role to re-correct the route. But sorry about the tone of the message, my brother. Rooting for your success, hugs."
