Franchising is a terrible idea. I know nobody on this forum likes people bringing up CS, but CS has really proved you can make a huge and successful esport by NOT franchising, and also by allowing 3rd party tournament organizers to bid each other up to create the better productions.

Rito has traditionally had the issue of trying to keep everything in their own hands, and in the FPS genre that really just won't cut it. The community is what made the genre great. Think about community maps and modes (almost all maps in CS were made by the community), think about CoD4 promod, and many more.

Rito - lessen your stranglehold; you will be choking your own game.

Everyone does know that source 2 doesn't mean shit for CSGO right? The only thing that source 2 does is make different (but similar) calculations on physics, graphics and movement.

CSGO won't magically become a new game with a port to source 2. The only way that source 2 means a huge difference is if volvo decides to MAKE new changes on top of a Source 2 port.

People always seem to think source2 is this magical new thing - it really isn't. You could port csgo 1:1 onto source 2 and only have minor differences due to the way the engine works.

This. If the pathway to T1 is ONLY through an academy team, then many players that have the skill, drive and talent and actually SHOULD be playing in and/or against T1 teams never will get the chance to. There simply aren't enough teams to promote new groups into academy teams

Academy teams are simply breeding grounds to recruit from in the future for t1 teams. That is not what we're talking about. We're talking about the route for an unknown team with 5 players rising to play against t1 teams

community created maps and modes. It really is what kept CS alive for so long. Now, if you want a break from ranked, all you can do is play a meaningless gamemode or sit in the range. In CS you can spend your "downtime" on surf and other custom servers. I used to spend so many hours in 1v1 arena and surf servers
