The Tier 1 teams are doing that, yes. Some of the upper Tier 2 teams are competing in these tourneys, like TSM, FaZe, EG, 100T.

You are right. All of these orgs have solid Tier 2 teams, just like TSM. That includes FaZe, Gen.G, and T1.

Keep the NSG Summer and Winter Champs, but up the prize pool to $100k plus and make them LAN events.
Add in a yearly Knights event based on the monthlies, with invited monthly winners and a qualifier to fill 12 spots.
Obvi would need better sponsors, but would be cool to have more events like CSGO.

If tsm would have played in the BoomTV tournament, they would have destroyed that as well. The top teams were FaZe and GenG, which they destroyed recently. Unlucky that cancelled travel plans got in the way of everything.

Imagine you're nitr0, Hiko, even Steel and Ethan. You join a Valorant team and are told that Asuna will be your star player. I don't imagine that inspired much confidence. Maybe that's why they struggled so much and eventually disbanded.
