If you're deciding between Sova and Fade, I think the best option is to learn both, because each one is a lot better on a few maps. If you're hell-bent on picking just one, though, then go Sova as he's meta on more maps than Fade (plus Lotus is rotating out anyway).

That being said, though, just because Cypher is a sentinel doesn't mean you need to be scummy when you play him. You don't need to hide in safe corners and kill people using only unbreakable trips and one-way cages.
