ardiis on Plat Chat would be super funny but I don't think he watches 90% of the games so he might not have much input as FNS or d00mbr0s, for example

Also like half these people aren't wholesome lmao. Nice, maybe; respectful, some of them sure; but not wholesome

I don't know why no one's said this yet, but every region gets the same number of slots because that's just fair. They all work the same way, have the same number of teams, and use the same format. So there's no reason at all to have them each send a different number of teams.

He's a great player but he's sort of in that GX Cloud situation where he's the only one who can IGL, so he's IGLing, which not only worsens his performance but is also not the best in itself. If you had him fully learn to IGL in the offseason or had another member of the team learn to IGL or dropped one of the players for an IGL... in any of those circumstances I feel he'd perform a lot better next year

Ah. Consistent top 4 team in CN. Would've actually made Champs last year but they lost to FPX and BLG in the qualifier

DUDE HOW DID I FORGET THE TEAM SLOW.
No I desperately need the team slow removed. One time I walled off Abyss B and one of my teammates was ratting on Danger. He realizes he's in trouble, turns to jump back, gets SLOWED BY MY WALL, and falls off the map. We lost the round.
I need team slow gone, like, yesterday

He is super fun in the right hands. Glad you're enjoying him :)

Those are great ideas. What I had in mind was:

  • Making the wall cooldown 30 seconds to match Omen/Clove (would do the same thing with Astra smoke btw)
  • Make the line the wall makes on the ground when you're casting it hidden to the enemy team
  • Increase Cascade duration after getting stopped from 7 to 10 seconds
  • Increase Cove health from 500 to 600, reduce the cost from 300 to 350, and keep the smoke up as a normal smoke for full duration once the shield is broken
  • Increase the number of stuns from 3 to 4 and change the windup from 1.35 to 1 second

I feel like that's too much though lol

Harbor Viper was mainly cool because Harbor's fun to watch, honestly. But then people got sick of Skye, so she got nerfed to the ground. We thought we'd see less Viper as a result but it was actually Harbor's pickrate that tanked; Viper went up to like 80%. Then we realized how insufferable watching Viper nonstop on every map is, so she got nerfed to the ground as well. Now we're watching Omen on every map but I don't think anyone cares because people just like Omen so darn much. And then we also got Clove who's getting more play than not only Harbor but also Brimstone and Astra, even though she literally has one piece of util that ever gets used, which is literally just a worse Omen smoke.

That was quite the little rant I just went on but my point is: Viper on every map is boring, Omen on every map is boring, and we really need to balance the controllers so that they all see equalish amounts of play (except Clove I hate Clove she sucks)

posted 2 months ago

Me too, man. Me too. I actually have several in mind. I'd put them in my "I'm gonna try to balance every controller" thread (that's the one I'm doing next) but it has to be realistic and I can't just buff him all over (I might do it anyway)

posted 2 months ago

Everyone's playing Omen instead of Astra now, regardless of whether or not he's better in that specific team comp on that specific map

posted 2 months ago

I don't really have time to watch it (and also it isn't very fun to watch when I don't understand the casters), but I try to stay up to date on what's going on

Falcons have to win Ascension, man. I desperately need MENA rep in EMEA

posted 2 months ago

The team is like tier 6 MENA Game Changers. So if there's someone who can't drop more than 7 ACS in that kind of lobby, then I definitely wanna be 1v1ing them to save my family

Dude who's learning lineups for Harbor 😭

posted 2 months ago

As a controller main:

  1. Omen — Only controller with movement, has some insane range, paranoia is arguably the best ability in the game, and he has one-ways which are something usually only he can do. Frankly he's broken and needs to be nerfed because his outplay potential is genuinely unmatched

  2. Harbor — Super underrated and underused agent. He has some of the most versatile smokes in the entire game—High Tide can be used so many different ways and cut off so many sitelines simultaneously, Cascade can be used to scale or take space or just stopped instantly to be used as a normal smoke, Cove can be used to take space or plant/defuse or as cover because it can block bullets. I fully believe Harbor is an amazing agent who isn't seeing play just because he needs time and effort to learn, unlike controllers such as Omen or Brimstone

  3. Astra — She'd be higher if she still had 5 stars, or if they didn't nerf the suck for literally no reason. She is an amazing agent who deserves a lot more play than she gets (and she'd have that play if Omen wasn't broken). Crossmap impact is an amazing thing to have, and the ability to instantly smoke the other side of the map is very very strong. Her wall is also amazing and her suck and stun have amazing combo potential if you're not too obvious about it

  4. Brimstone — The most basic controller in the game. Very easy to use, has very straight-forward utility, and has some pretty guaranteed baseline value. He has the best stall out of any controller in the game plus the longest smokes in the game, each lasting 20 seconds. The only problem with Brimstone is the fact that his smokes don't regenerate. That means in a longer more defaulty round he doesn't have smokes left over, or he can't smoke sitelines after an exec because he used all his smokes for said exec. This is why he's down here

  5. Viper — Received a bunch of major nerfs recently, but even when you don't account for those nerfs, she isn't really a good controller in the sense of being a controller. She's kind of her own role, a mix of smokes and senti, a kind of permanent lurk role. As far as smokes go she doesn't really provide much value, especially when she can't pick up her orb. There are only a few maps where she can use her wall as an actual smoke, and either way you don't see it too often

  6. Clove — the absolute worst agent in the entire game, there is absolutely zero reason to be picking her whatsoever

I don't think back-to-back 2-0s against a much better team is considered a smashing. Especially when there's statistics to back up the fact that the referees were biased against CONCACAF teams throughout the entire tournament.

At the end of the day, both teams played well—Argentina lived up to their potential and took home the trophy again, and Canada defied all expectations by making a deep run and only losing to the eventual winners.
