Anyone saying NathanD is the best coach in China is absolutely wrong tbh. Destroyer from Trace has definitely taken the #1 spot. FPX coach didn't improve a single mistake from Shanghai and doubled down on the stupid shit. To be fair, FPX got the hardest draw imaginable but I'm talking about Split 2 to now as a whole.

FPX are a very good team, that's not the debate. It's not even a case of nerves. There's zero reason to change a comp that you know is very good and put your mechanical best player (who won you Lotus against GENG ffs) onto Viper.

posted 10 months ago

I think there's a very slight possibility for them to win Champs but it largely depends on the results of other matches. Heretics and EDG would be their toughest competition I think lol. They can't beat EDG for the life of them and Heretics are basically the kryptonite of Chinese teams. Trace are interesting because they try to play pure valorant and not chaotic Chinese valorant. They're kind of comparable to G2 and GENG, a match against them would be very close I think and I could see Trace pulling the win out.

Not anymore, Trace kicked their ass for all of the second season and should've beaten them in their best of 5 series but choked crucial rounds on Haven.

posted 10 months ago

Life on viper is actually sacrilegious, did they really change their comp because they lost to Heretics on it? It's a comp that's difficult to work around and still hasn't been tested against a lot of teams internationally. This new comp is just shit.

NRG lose to BLG = Their legacy changed forever
LEV lose to Trace = Still the goats?
Make this make sense

Now that we know Aspas isn't better than China's 3rd best duelist, what does this mean for aspas's legacy on vlr?

America is shit so yeah

posted 10 months ago

TE played excellent valorant really. They seem to have mastered the Deadlock comp better than nearly any other team. Their Ascent looked incredible. It's hard to really say LEV 'choked' when they just got flat out stomped on Ascent. Several of their players underperformed. Losing to classics in the 2nd round was embarrassing. Overrated team is overrated.

Unironically replace LEV and SEN with 2 other Chinese teams and I'd guarantee you they would do better at Champs, no fucking joke, sub them out for JDG and All Gamers lmao

Ardiis and his chat predicted LEV to win champs actually kek

LEV are quite literally the definition of 'regional merchants' I genuinely don't understand how they were so fucking overrated

This take doesn't really make sense when you consider GENG already won an international and beat TH in the finals to prove it. The firepower might be pretty even but their site executes were straight up bad at times, t3xture failed to get kills on Bind, Lakia was just giving his life away and there were several rounds in a row where the entire team was whiffing shots. TH looked excellent and had the better macro but this was a lesser international performance by GENG from a teamplay perspective.

posted 10 months ago

I didn't even read the clusterfuck of threads from idiots yesterday after that match. What actually happened was GENG had an off day and TH improved massively off their previous mistakes. Honestly I'm shocked the game was even as close as it was. GENG played REALLY poorly at times. They were also whiffing left and right. GENG should comfortably beat SEN. If they face FPX they might actually get grouped. I trust that they'll figure things out though.

What the hell are you even saying

posted 10 months ago

EDG could easily beat PRX in their current form ngl

posted 10 months ago

Honestly I think there is a small chance. Trace are a pretty unique team, a mix of Chinese chaos and standard, good valorant. But LEV should win this 2-0.

posted 10 months ago

Even the Trace duelists played with more confidence than Miniboo tbh

G2 played out of their mind against PRX. There's no way they lose this.

posted 10 months ago

TEC is the slowest, most boring team in China with little firepower compared to the other Chinese teams + zero new ideas and a duelist igl.

Sayaplayer's replacement?

posted 10 months ago

FPX played better against TH than SEN did against GENG. I don't even see how they'll beat FPX, let alone the other two teams to make it out.

Whole team aside from Mindfreak was terrible yesterday, no doubt about it. Something might've mastered Jett but this dude was dying with nearly full util, not using his smokes to enter site or block off angles. Forsaken on the flash initiator isn't great either. He completely fumbled while playing Sova and there was literally no utility to support his duelists when he played Kayo. First time I've seen with my own eyes the 'jack off all trades is a master of none' argument ring true for him. Davai was completely checked out, dying with full utility, making the worst plays I've ever seen with some of his peaks. Disaster of a team right now.

Now that we've seen the form of all 16 teams from the opening matches, who do you see getting grouped? I'm gonna say

A: BLG and KRU
B: SEN and TH
C: TLN and VIT
D: PRX and FUT

I'd argue Sayf should be quite lower. I'm a fan of his but he was outclassed by nearly every member of TE lol. He had a solid performance but hardly remarkable considering his role. He had 7 fks and 11 fds. Trexx was unbelievable though.
