that's true. I should've put him in A before. Now he's S after winning 2 titles

meteor is now S tier

posted 18 hours ago

how the hell is nats not s tier

posted 1 day ago

i agree alfa was one of the best in 2023 but look at him now. He's not playing a lot of sentinel and playing raze and iso

posted 5 days ago

they're in the same tier man

posted 5 days ago

chamber players will NOT count since they are duelist-minded and play different than a traditional senti.

I have a few picks and reasons:

S Tier

nAts

  • the best player in 2021, masters winner, 2nd in champs, unfortunate events in 2022, decent in 2023, good in 2024 but dogshit teammates, and still the best player in his team on 2025. Did so fucking well in bangkok but his teammates just arent as good.
  • pioneered lurking, innovated viper setups on bind, knows the best timing for lurks, and one of the best site anchors of all time.
  • the best phantom user in valorant imo.
  • Even after 5 years of competing he's the ONLY player in the 3 liquid rosters to perform well and outfrag everyone. Put him on a better team and he'd win trophies just like what he did in Gambit.

Less

  • champs winner 2022, consistent in 2023 and 3rd in champs, fell off a bit (loud were shit in 2024), and is doing well in 2025 so far
  • a great killjoy and viper player and is probably the greatest player ever in using a vandal and taking 1v1 straight up duels, a world class site anchor

A Tier:
Chichoo

  • champs winner last year, arguably underrated and during the group stage and early playoffs was edg's best player up until KK took over the rest of the tournament
  • great anchor, good lurk timings, great ability to 1v1 and isolate duels. Currently doing amazing in bangkok

Alfajer

  • Arguably best sentinel during 2023, top 3 player in 2023, but I don't think his sentinel is on par w nats and less.
  • Simply has godlike mechanics with insane vandal bursting, which helps alot with anchoring sites and taking duels.
  • Recently been playing a lot of iso and shifted into a flex-duelist-senti role, weird as hell.

B Tier

  • meteor: consistent for 2024 ONLY, 2025 he's doing well so far.
  • benjyfishy: same w meteor, only for 2024, in 2025 not doing so hot
  • suygetsu: The 2nd best sentinel in 2022 after less, but after that navi just didnt do shit for 2 years straight. Moved to KC to a weird smokes role.
  • leaf: consistent anchor, sentinel, etc. Has great game sense and timing, but been only on sentinel since 2024. Was a cracked duelist and one of NA's best but is now a great sentinel. Surely more to come from him.
  • shyy: Honestly underrated sentinel player. during kickoff was kru's only consistent player and I honestly think he can perform better with a better team. Kru is just so goddamn inconsistent

for anyone else i am missing please mention below!

I'm so happy for patitek nats and keiko

Pati deserved to be on the international stage and on a tier 1 team. Nats is the goat cypher and still one of my favourite players of all time. Keiko was the only good player from the apeks core and I'm so glad he's fragging so good, on controller as well.

I'm glad with the addition of kamyk and kamo. Kamo is a great selfless-hard entry duelist that was so hated when he first joined (because bro was a racist immature teenager, good to know that he has grown into a good person and teammate). Kamyk and pattitek are 2 great initiators and pati's comms + utils are so good to set keiko and kamo up.

Good to see nats getting SO MANY first engagements as an IGL sentinel.

Very happy for this liquid team. I don't expect them to get top 3 in bangkok but hopefully atleast they make top 4 and not get knocked out in the swiss stage.

About heretics, they're experiencing the PRX syndrome, where they get close to 2 trophies but not win anything internationally, then go into a downwards spiral. I feel is that with this core 5 players on heretics they've hit their peak and sadly there's a low chance of them getting back to that peak.

if liquid make bangkok then platchat are frauds

I agree. Aspas saved them during the KRU match and theyre teamplay is a bit disorganized.

no way this guy edited this comment so yall wont know the context

I still think G2 will win, but I hope SEN will make it close

posted 3 weeks ago

yeah i agree loud is slightly better

posted 3 weeks ago

yeah, it's expected, but they did so well to get top 3. They just need more experience and them grinding and playing more in stage 1 can help alot

posted 3 weeks ago

if they are dogshit and make top 3 kickoff then wtf are nrg and c9

posted 3 weeks ago

Great run for a newly formed team with 2 rookies who have clearly never played a tier 1 BO5. Give them more experience and I bet they qualify for champions (or get top 5 in stage 1).
Aspas is still goated but his opping was clearly shut down. MIBR needs more double initiator comps and yes artzin is a good raze but with double duelist and skye only you rely only on slow defaults and you can only go aggresive if you have a raze ult.

Compare that with breach or tejo or more fade. There's also so many times where artzin died first without being traded.
I feel that aspas should be more aggresive, and I personally hate the baiting/statpas narrative but it's true to some extent, he still sometimes plays too passive/safe.
He can be more aggressive with double initiator comps.

Have them grind more for a month then they'd be top 4 in my opinion.

lev fumbled with aspas because aspas joined lev to play with nzr, and they fucking kicked nzr during christmas. I think anyone would be unhappy with lev management if it played out like that. If you want to keep aspas then do anything to satisfy him and he will provide you with consistent performance and wins for your org.

if you are a true fan of this org then you would realize that this team of 5 players is not gonna work anymore

if we kept this lineup of 5 then we will look worse than GE at this point

only player who can compete vs everyone else is meiy. The others are just behind because japan doesn't have as big as a playerbase as south korea, NA, Brazil, and SEA. South korea also has a ton of academies + veterans in the coaching staff so korea is still the number one region in APAC.

bruh i feel like 16 is too low. No matter how good some guys are they dont have any experience at 16. 18-24 seems more plausible

posted 2 months ago

In sports like football, a player's "Prime" is usually 26 to early 30s, and that player starts to decline after 32-34, eventually retiring at 36 or more
For goalkeepers, this number is way higher and a GK's prime is usually 30+ to 35, some goalies even retire after 40+ years old.

But what about valorant pros?
From what I see most pros are 20+ years old right now. Zekken is undoubtly reaching his prime ages at 20ish years old. TenZ definitely hit his peak at 20/21 but still performed well at 23 before he retired. Sacy retired at 27 but his prime is definitely when he was 25 during his champions win with LOUD.

KangKang might've have already his his prime at 20 years old, having a godlike performance at champions grand final.
Players such as f0rsaken, davai, something, still perform pretty well with exceptional mechanical skill, with davai being in his mid 20s, forsaken and something still in early 20s.
Mindfreak is performing much better than his early years, performing better at 25 than when he was younger.

yay's peak was when he was 23/24 on the optic days. He's still got it but his probably past his prime
Aspas is 21 so he still has 3/4 years left before his mid 20's.

but these peaks only happens due to perfect conditions, such as the team getting better, better team environment, better coaches, different meta, the roles or role switching, etc.
A controller might have an older prime age mean compared to duelists. But we will see in 3 to 4 years time if the current youngsters will hit their prime ages or not.

typical vlr snobs. It's so obvious mako has been declining and mf has been improving

foxy9 be one of those thanos in a few rounds but mid in most rounds

posted 3 months ago

mako was only good in 2022-early 2023. In 2024 drx just changed alot of players so theres a reason why his performance dropped
mindfreak has been the better controller since tokyo 2023 to mid 2024 but prx was garbage in champs.

Mindfreak is SLIGHTLY better but not by a huge mile

if they use this same comp during the season and keep losing then I'm going to tweak

I want them to atleast win a domestic trophy and then atleast top 4 in any of the masters or champions events. I'd be happy if FNS came back to the international stage again.

posted 3 months ago

The fact that this is FNS' first off season event and NRG has actual PROPER preparation in the off season is exciting. We know what happens when teams focus on development and growth during the off season (SEN having success last season) and I hope NRG can atleast make champs in 2025. I don't expect them to win any international trophies but I expect them to get top 4 or top 3 in one of the events.

The reason why the previous NRG "super team" didnt work was because they were late in announcing the roster, probably had little time to prep compared to every other team (Due to the EG roster lock), and ethan IGLing just didnt work + they kept changing around demon1 on raze which does not work. Demon1 isnt a pure entry duelist player and he plays more like a sentinel/2nd entry. IMO partly it was chet's fault for not utilizing the team last year. FNS and s0m also went in late and only had 1 month to prac with the team which is just isn't enough time.

With bonkar already cooking up a great NRG team in 10 days + 3 more months of practicing, bootcamping, and another offseason tournament for NRG, I'm sure they'll be atleast top 3 in Americas next year. After the SOOP valorant tournament, Mada and Verno can get some well needed experience against international tier 1 teams.

johnqt on initiator:

  1. He's played initiator on ghost gaming and a bit of flash initiator on m80 so it's not like he has 0 experience
  2. as an initiator on attack, you are essentially a group player and you generally enter the site with the duelist, flex, and controller and you can comm and control util timing and tell the duelist when to entry (you also know what's happening during the site hit)
  3. IGLing on sentinel is damn hard because you need to comm + looking at the map + telling people where to go, this means that he has to multi task which is bad for a lurker on attack because you NEED to be focused on what's infront of you all the time and you can imagine a case where john is comming and loses focus on whats in front, then he dies due to him not paying full focus on what's infront of him.
  4. on defense, john needed to anchor alot which means a higher chance of him dying first. If he's on initiator then he can control and execute site retakes for the team.

n4rrate on sentinel:

  1. overall an upgrade fragging wise and just makes sense. As an anchor and lurker, you need to frag alot and give n4rrate 2 more months on sentinel then he'd be good.
  2. he's ofc not IGLing on attack which means he can focus more on lurking and paying attention to what's actually infront of him.
  3. obviously as a site anchor for success you need to kill 2 before dying, and ofc this guy can frag well.
posted 3 months ago

also lurking as an igl is hard because you can lose your focus while comming and looking at the map and then you die to a timing because you weren't paying attention on whats in front

it makes so much sense to have narrate lurk
