well it's not like DRX have any short supply of talent either.

The fact of the matter is that there's too much KR tier 2 talent and not enough teams to house them
even if T1 were to pick up talents like Zest, Stew, etc. there'd still be players left over.

posted 2 months ago

that's not true lol
free1ng was the best sentinel/top 2 minimum during vck
udotan was an insane player when he played for sdc last year and his vlr stats are impressive to boot

posted 2 months ago

tbf geng was the best team of 2024 and drx was 2nd in pacific split 2 so you're probably expecting too much lol

i think spg's vision of the game is pretty on point. fnatic didnt copy their haven comp and go undefeated with it for nothing

posted 3 months ago

Didn't SPG go undefeated ors omething

posted 3 months ago

meteor does tho

posted 3 months ago

honestly this is lowkey a big compliment towards geng so im okay with this take

posted 4 months ago

good thing they beat every americas team to get to it then

just saying heretics took more maps off geng than 100t lev and g2 combined

posted 4 months ago

his utility is elite but if they can find someone even remotely close to Leo in terms of fragging ability and util usage they would be an upgrade over Lakia.

His util is about the only thing he's good for and on Skye maps he struggles so hard.

I didn't rate TH over FNC heading into the event, but after the first round of matches I did. FNC are not a top 5 team at the event.

the playoff buff helps some teams and not others, there's an argument that FPX's run in groups helped them fix their mistakes early on, whereas a playoff spot could have meant they wouldn't have time to fix their mistakes.
Don't forget that more often than not, a playoff bye was detrimental to the team.

Meteor exists

Honestly BuZz got 2 or 3 to open the game, so it makes sense he'd be feeling himself. The other 4 played it horribly though

LMFAO

idk nobody knows how that tournament could have turned out though. if LOUD didnt attend copenhagen then we could have assumed that they'd have won copenhagen as well instead of getting grouped

moreover there's nothing to say fpx would have won copenhagen had they participated in reykjavik because so many things change

posted 4 months ago

why is FPX 1st-3rd for Reykjavik...?

Yes of course it wasn't close PRX were playing with a Gekko onetrick streamer instead of the best player in Pacific lol.

TL EDG NRG EG were competitive but so was TH G2 100T and arguably FPX.

Also I edited my comment above for clarification.

I think LOUD could have beaten that FNC had they not slumped, considering they almost beat them at LOCKIN and then beat them at Champs.
DRX and NAVI I agree.
But also no team was gonna beat GEN.G at Shanghai except maybe FNC, so the same rule applies - there was maybe only 1 team at each event that could have beaten the winner.

FNC didn't exactly fall off, they had just won EMEA.

DRG FUT T1 are bad 100%.
Likewise ASE FUT T1 were bad at Tokyo as well.

If you're saying TL was good at Tokyo then PRX was also good at Shanghai considering they almost beat 100T to make top 4 and they had also beaten GEN.G heading into the tournament.

Also FNC had the advantage of starting in playoffs instead of groups at Tokyo, though obviously they would have made it past groups there's a possibility they lose a map or two.

I mean in the end I agree FNC Tokyo was more dominant than GEN.G Shanghai but I just don't see why Shanghai is so much lower than Tokyo considering the circumstances were almost the same.

posted 4 months ago

tbf PRX also had a sub for Tokyo, DRX and LOUD were at their lowest points, and TL made the event. I think it's disingenuous to mark such a stark difference between Tokyo and Shanghai tbh.

TH at Shanghai may have had a sub but it wasn't for their best player, unlike PRX. And PRX were the dominant #1 Asian team too.

Not saying FNC weren't dominant but I think the reasons you pointed out for why GEN.G isn't higher can easily be applied to FNC.

I think they're including the level of the gameplay and competition when talking about prime, otherwise SEN and FNC tokyo would be 1 and 2.

Stax smokes
KK, Smoggy, Haodong, Nobody smokes
Munchkin smokes too I think not sure on this one??
f0rsakeN smokes, idr maybe Mindfreak also??

smoking is very common amongst eSports pros as it's a high intensity stressful job and most pros are Asian so smoking is the most convenient way to deal with that stress.

no way she tweeted this

yea true, i just really like f0rsakeN and Alecks and mindfreak, etc. the old core

idt it was like a malicious thing, just like a :p, but it was already uncalled for and there's no way she doesn't know the strained relationship between China and Korea + the GEN.G situation. Just came off super ignorant and rude.

At Shanghai, while being interviewed alongside xccurate by mikaFabs.
When asked how she felt about Shanghai she said it was good and she "loved Shanghai......much better than Korea" and stuck her tongue out lol
Everyone was like wtf??? and KR netizens got kinda pissed because it was literally out of pocket. This was after the controversy about GEN.G being bullied by the crowd and the ranked players came out as well.

Edit: To add, PRX have a SHITTON of Korean fans, so they lost a lot of goodwill in Korea after Jinggg's cardboard comments and Jinggg's mum's interview.

posted 4 months ago

xccurate's reaction was the best bro realised he was in danger just by being next to her when she said that LOL

posted 4 months ago

Ever since SulkyFetish and JingggsFamilyLawyer joined
Ever since Jinggg mocked GEN.G for 1 cardboard, PRX 1 trophy
Ever since Jinggg's mum took shots at Korea for no reason during Shanghai
edit: Ever since PRX fangirls started witchhunting Flashback (including something's gf and Jinggg's mod)

PRX have been on a downfall lol.

Is this karma?

everytime this guy gets a kill it's fast as FUCK
When you see him peek you're dead. No wonder this guy was hyped up. That kill onto C0M during the 1v3 was insane. And when he peeked C0M just now. You see him and you're already dead.

posted 4 months ago

erm...

posted 4 months ago

no one said that lol they just said he's one of drx's best players and it's true even now

posted 4 months ago

they're already the best team of 2024 unless it's TH or SEN placing higher than them.

GEN.G making finals determines whether they're in the argument for the best team in history

posted 4 months ago

Sayaplayer is literally incapable of flexing. i literally told you this in my first reply lol.

you're not taking meiy off duelist.

so you're forced to run either double duelist or duelist/chamber comps every map. because saya was terrible when he wasn't playing duelist.

this is assuming yotaa is down to play initiator or smokes. his second best role is senti btw.

yoshii also only plays senti or duelist btw. the last time he played initiator was 2 years ago btw.

This is not football. All characters move at the same speed, all the characters have the same health, all the characters use the same weapons. This is not a class shooter, this is not Overwatch, mechanics are mostly the same for all characters

Roles on this game are not as defined as football. Roles are based in playstyle, all of the players you just said would be capable of flexing if that was the case. If you want to get a japanese roster where all the players are specialized in a single role, you will not have it, because there are no japanese players who are specialized in single a role that will dominate tier 1

bro thinks this is cs instead of valorant im dead.
initiator players, sentinel players, and smokes players all play differently from duelist players lmao.

you do know that for example smokes players should usually try to stay alive and/or lurk comparatively more than initiator players or sentinel players because generally smokes are useful for a retake/hold and can be placed down from across the map?

you know that initiator players generally don't look to lurk on the map because they need to provide utility for their team during a hit?

obviously these roles/playstyles aren't locked but there are basic things you naturally do depending on what role you play. a duelist player can dry contact an area, but if a sentinel does the same thing it's a lot riskier because you'd be moving ahead of your util and if you die, your setup dies with you. and teams usually rely on passive sentinel info to cover holes in their defaults i.e. if kj dies pushing ascent b main as def then turret/alarmbot goes down and you have a gaping hole in mid and on b main.

you have no idea whether these players are capable of flexing at all.

and wtf is this?

Look at Liquid, they have 5 players with locked roles and they haven't innovated in comps all year, because only one of their players can flex.

No one said anything about having players who can't flex being good. "You want players who can flex - so why are you suggesting players who can't?" is literally my entire point. what???

you clearly haven't even tried to play on a competitive team or participate in a competitive setting. so this is where i leave you. it's not worth talking to someone with your rationale.

posted 4 months ago

guess yay was neither talented nor salaried.

you're argentinian, so let me put it this way: messi is the goat and salaried. that means he should have no problem playing as a defender right? =)

posted 4 months ago

go to oxy and aspas's vlr pages and click all time.

go to t3xture's page and notice the only non duelist he plays well is kj

go to jinggg's page and notice the only non duelist he plays well is sage and maaaaybe clove

zekken is the only person on that team who can actually flex.

yay flexed more than oxy and aspas have in their entire careers. lmfao.
