How is the winner of latam v brazil decided? The LCQ between NIP and Kru/Lev?

posted about 2 years ago

Wait, they're both part of the same org, FPX and this FPX ZHUQUE team. But isn't there some rule saying one org can't field more than 1 team regardless of which region, hence why T1 Korea and C9 Korea disbanded and Immortals disbanded when MIBR (their parent company is Immortals) decided to create a team in Brazil.

"Korea is a single team dogshit region with no competition"
cough cough Nuturn cough 3rd Place Reykjavik cough

"A nonamer team which couldn't get a single map in the last 2 macthes they played?"
who ONS? they won the lower bracket final 3-0 which was their 2nd to last match played.
also DRX never beat ONS 2-0, on the contrary it was the opposite
lmao research your facts

Last champs, Sea had by far easier groups. Group D wasn't dubbed group of death for no reason. Literally the only thing Team Secret had to do was stomp CR and Vikings in extremely one sided 2-0 matches

I've followed both scenes. Watched both teams play even recently. Ignore my flair but I just can't honestly say from the bottom of my heard that I think PRX will beat DRX. That's just me after watching both teams play all year up until recently.

"much much weaker region"??
Kr has performed better than Sea overall in Valorant's short history

"little to no competition?"
didn't Drx get 2-0'd by ONS or something?

Those 2 teams from sea had no doubt easier groups. Group D wasn't dubbed group of death for no reason. They also had a combined -18 round deferential in their post group stage matches afterwards . Also, the roster shuffle logic doesn't fly by me. With the exception of one player from each team, the teams have stayed identical. (Even more pressing is the fact that each of those players were not dropped, one had a medical leave and came back later, while the other joined the Singapore Armed forces for mandatory service. Both of those players were seen as a positive aspect of their respective teams and were desired to keep, and the one player changes that ensued were not done by the orgs for the prospect of replacing players for better ones and improving the roster). There is little to assume that PRX have gotten that much stronger to beat DRX.

I do remember a bit of hype from posts and forums on this site about Vikings, but definitely more about Vivo Keyd at Stage 3. But I agree the region has been showing consistent improvement, bringing much closer matches against bigger teams. Hopefully they make it further this time. #BeLOUD :)

I mean, they kind of do have a way to measure. Drx beat Prx 2-0 before at Berlin. Also Kr has had better results than Sea within Valorant's short history.

If it's from the top 4 regions from champs, then it can't be Loud since they're from Brazil, their own region which is unaffiliated with Latam. And also most likely not the winner of LCQ between NIP and loser of Lev/Kru since they're just going to be statistically only the 2nd best team from their own region. The only option would be the winner of Lev/Kru.

I'm so confused lol

ty styx

so it could potentially be a no group stage bracket-only tournament like the previous one in Reykjavik?

rip yeah don't waste your time on that

k thx

kk should have expected it would be him

DRX is first from their region. And I'm willing to bet that they would beat PRX like they did before.

If it's not too time consuming to find, can you link the post for me?

FPX makes sense to skip. So does Guard ig. But why PRX when I can safely say that teams like DRX, Optic, or G2 are most likely better?

That's difficult to manage fairly without causing outrage from one community or another. Who would these 4 teams who skip groups be then?

changed to a series called NXT UP

There are 12 participating teams though. 2 groups of 4 would encompass only 8 teams. How about the other 4?

most likely I think

On the Reykjavik: Stage 1 page it shows how there is going to be an initial group stage, followed by the bracket playoffs, which most of us probably expected.

But it shows how 4 teams will be eliminated by the end of the group stage. These 4 eliminated groups will be placed at 9th-10th place and 11th-12th place. To me, this indicates that there will be a larger single or double group stage similar to this one or this one, with the top 8 advancing into a bracket style playoff and the bottom 2 from each group, or the bottom 4 if there is only one large group, being eliminated.

I also believe there's some credibility to this as vlr.gg has also been able to previously find out and post about info from international tournaments such as the amount of prize money for Berlin last year on their page before that information was released publicly by Riot.

Every time there's been one good looking brazil team that's been overhyped. Stage 2 it was Vikings who were eliminated in consecutive 2-0 defeats to Sen and TL. Stage 3 it was Vivo Keyd who got clapped in groups with two 2-0 defeats to Optic (then Envy) and Kru. Now it's Loud who's being hyped up by the Brazilian fans. I do see more potential in this team than I've seen ever in any Brazilian team, but I fear a similar story depending on who's in their group. This time tho, there are only 2 teams from NA. Most likely, if we were to see the group format, it might potentially be Loud (BR 1), Fnatic (Emea 3), Xerxia (Sea 2), and maybe Zeta, with notably no NA team in the same group, giving them a greater chance of advancing.

good for him. just asking cause I've never seen him play kj before

posted about 2 years ago

what doesn't count. The fact that literally all 5 players who were on the team are currently playing together means its a "new roster?"

like read this statement u just made - "its still a new roster even with same players"
like it literally doesn't make sense

posted about 2 years ago

It could be 3 team groups like the G2 Sen F4Q group and top 2 advance

a large group stage where everyone faces each other and the top 8 or so advance to a bracket style playoffs (similar format for many regions currently like NA and KR)

tru tru, also I wasn't saying Chamber instead of kj, but that i've never seen buzz play kj before

'new roster'? what new roster

also I'm not talking about one specific player (I mentioned buzz on kj since I've never seen him on it before) I'm referring to the region as a whole. Just today, chamber was played by both teams in guard v optic and almost every other time since his release into pro play. Kr teams tend to shy away from chamber much more

V1 got beat by KR kekw

only Sen who, not only were not underdogs, but the favorites. And they barely beat Fnatic too (14-12, 16-14, 13-11)
