GenG are playing teams that were better then the ones Fnatic were playing. You play better teams, you're gonna lose more games/rounds.

FNC with the same roster couldn't win any games at internationals (except BLG) while GenG have been in the grand finals of 2/3 so far winning one of them. Not to mention GenG have literally beat Fnatic with the same 2023 roster.

Fnatic only changed their coach. So unless you wanna say he was the only reason they were winning, which wouldn't make them the best team of all time.

posted 3 months ago

fnc almost had a flawless split losing 1 map in regular season (played with sub kamyk)

This isn't as big as people make it out to be when you remember that 2023 EMEA was almost entirely dog shit with the exception of Fnatic.

Crazy how their dominance dropped off a cliff once teams actually remembered how to play the games.

posted 3 months ago

Pretty sure it's part of a VLR extension someone made a while ago, but hasn't updated since.

The same reason people don't like panccc, if someone is guilty of sexual misconduct or abuse, being in a position of power that comes from being a micro-celebrity is bad for people who he might prey on.

Mazino isn't guilty until he is proven so, but if he is guilty, he absolutely should have no place in esports.

posted 3 months ago

EMEA would be better if they stopped recycling the same ol players every year. I think across the board, all the teams that picked up promising rookies or non veteran players are doing well.

posted 3 months ago

You didn't have faith :(

posted 3 months ago

The most coherent argument is that the overall level of competition was shit compared to this year.

They looked not nearly as good once the rest of the field remembered how to play the game.

I think their dominance at the time was unmatched, but I agree that it feels like you need to look at that dominance with a big asterisk now.

Non-consensual audio recordings (meaning, she would have had to get his consent before recording) wouldn't be admissible as evidence in court as they violate 2-party consent laws (assuming the incident happened in CA).

This would mean that her entire case would be based off of the text messages, which wouldn't be enough proof to meet the threshold to not have your case dismissed.

Not to mention lawyers in America are expensive af. Twitter is likely your only course for any sort of retribution assuming everything is true.

posted 3 months ago

Did he ever say that was the case? I could be wrong, but I don't think he even publicly addressed the audio recordings outside of a blanket "out of context"-esque statement.

The ball is in his court with the evidence, until he provides some context to them that would make them less bad, occam's razor suggests they're true.

What did happen in 2015 ?

Gaming paradise. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RseSw5AyrYw

Any pref places you want to see ?

I'm biased since it's near where I live, but the Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado would be cool.

Here's an image for reference

There's probably some T3 game that went to like 32-30, but I think it is still the TSM vs GenG which was 21-23 I think.

reddit since vlr is broken https://www.reddit.com/r/ValorantCompetitive/comments/ou8jtz/geng_vs_tsm_valorant_champions_tour_north_america/

Would be cool. I think many TOs get scared off because of past outside tournaments, but I think we've come a long way since 2015 and could probably get past some of the issues inherent with outside tournaments (i.e., weather, screen glare, networking).

The big issue would be power delivery. Unless you put it somewhere there's already a connection to the power grid. You're either having to spend the money getting a connection out to where you are, or are going to have to get solar power (which would be highly impractical).

Disclaimer, I'm only familiar with American laws, but I imagine Korea has a similar situation.

SA is incredibly hard to prove in court. Especially in cases like this where, from my understanding, there was consensual sex, but further boundaries were broken without consent. You would essentially need a confession post-hoc, or a recording of them while you say no (in the US, sometimes these recordings aren't even admissible in court).

The court of public opinion doesn't need to meet those same legal standards, and can often be a good alternative to get justice. Which is why the people that always say, "wHy DiDn'T sHe PrEsS cHaRgEs" are wrong. (Not saying your one of them).

Can we stop underrating this guy?

Easily top 5 igl itw.

Name someone who brings his fragging ability while still having calling as good as his.

posted 4 months ago

Fuckin shame we'll have to see them go in 2026 so that teams like MIBR can waste space in the league.

Hope some team decides to spend the bag and pick up the entire team instead of them getting dissected into 2-3 different teams.

t3xture more so than buzz imo.

I'm just not a particularly big fan of paying to use things that I've already bought. Would be kinda cool if that wasn't a thing,

posted 4 months ago

Alright, that's enough vlr for the day.

posted 4 months ago

I don't know if he's the problem, but I'm surprised he's lasted this long on the roster. I don't think he's good enough to justify that personally.

posted 4 months ago

All brain no aim is still viable for an igl.

NRG just also have Victor and Crashies.

posted 4 months ago

All of the G2 players (-trent recently) make a strong case for being the most underrated player in their respective roles. All of them are really good, but they never make the top 5 lists of their roles.

posted 4 months ago

It depends on if it works or not, for me. Seeing prx in games where they lose and it's not close is incredibly boring, but any win or close game they have is normally more entertaining for me.

posted 4 months ago

I don't get it. What happened from 2022 when they were ahead of the curve on chamber, and somewhat neon? Did too much of the budget go to the chef tiktoks so they couldn't afford to turn on Chet's brain?

posted 4 months ago

Tex is an American citizen but chooses to play under the German flag because his family is from there. Or at least that's what I understand.

posted 4 months ago

I think if Reykjavik 2022 had a crowd, most people would rate it as top 3 event despite not having the full rosters of everyone.

The miracle zeta run. The start of the optic loud rivalry. Some of the chamber clips from Yay. It was incredibly enjoyable to watch, and was just let down by the fact that it was too soon for a crowd.

posted 4 months ago

I think this was a large part, but people underestimate how much the omen meta killed sugarzer0s performance. I think he looked like one of, if not the best, smokes players in the world with his util and aim before the Astra nerf. His play style doesn't fit well with the omen aggressive play style.

posted 4 months ago

My guess is that he really hasn't done anything in the past two years, despite having solid players on the roster and really good options to pickup.

Seems hell-bent on having an English speaking roster for not really any reason from what I can tell.

posted 4 months ago

I think it's plausible. ENGH is the only one that I would rate as very unlikely.

Would be a nightmare if they ever qualified to a masters or champs though.

Playing viper =/= playing omen.

We've seen Duelists in the same position that can't play entry (best example being Tenz) slot into the smokes role well while still having the sentinel player play Viper.

posted 4 months ago

I'm still of the opinion that he'd be a good smokes player. Focus on the rifle aim without being forced to be the entry. I really wish Bleed ran scary on viper and yay on omen after kickoff, think it would have been much better for them.

I think he definitely could go to a team like MIBR if they wanted to go to a mixed roster, but outside of that or being an import, I don't see much of a chance.

What if next year?

Giantx
nAts
Purp0
Cloud
Redgar
Sheydos

Could swap out redgar since it seems like it's not 2022 anymore.

I feel like

  • saya (duelist)
  • yoman (igl)
  • stax (init)
  • rb/ jinboong (senti)
  • izu (smokes)

Could go kinda crazy if they could get all of them.

There are some CS fans that hate him for the iBuyPower drama that was around a decade ago almost. Man's had it rough.

posted 4 months ago

Damn. Didn't see this.

Hope Derialy is able to come back.

He's one of the most underrated players in JP and has been around the scene for a long time. Hope he's able to bounce back.

posted 4 months ago

Why?

This is the 2nd year in a row that they've looked like one of the best teams in Pacific ascension only to make a roster change for seemingly no reason, which they end up being worse after.

First Xdll last year, and now derialy this year. I don't get it.

I understand they may have felt pressure for the Xdll boosting issue last year, but come on, why do we need to bench Derialy for Tennn. unless Derialy wanted to step away, Fennel have successfully thrown another season.

I was really looking forward to a Achillios and Paperthin grand finals. You can look through my post history, it's something I've talked about since Champs 2021 when they casted an international lan for the first time.

If you could read more than five letters, you would see that I'm happy for Doug and Babybay, just would've rather seen something else.

posted 5 months ago

No clue, just speculation.

I imagine it's less of a "clout" thing vs who is the casting duo they think will get them the most views.

posted 5 months ago

Yeah, totally agree.

It feels really weird. Maybe they think that Doug and Babybay have more clout as casters, so they would help viewership in the final.

It's a real shame. I think the Achillios and Paperthin casted Paper Rex/EG UBF last year was more hype than the actual grand final.

posted 5 months ago

GenG and Kr/Pacific winning their first trophy is cool and all, but how did Doug and Babybay end up casting the grand finals over Achillios and Paperthin?

I like Doug and Babybay and I'm glad they got this opportunity, but I feel Achillios/Paperthin kinda got snubbed here. Feels kinda wrong that the best Pacific casting duo wasn't there for when Pacific got their first win. Especially given the fact that Achillios' casting really shines when there's a lot of chaos with GenG and TH both being rather chaotic teams.

posted 5 months ago

I hadn't been to a CS event before IEM Dallas, and I gotta say, being part of the crowd was incredibly fun. Never been to a valorant LAN so I don't know how it compares, but this one set the bar pretty high.

I don't think we'll ever see stuff like that in Valorant, partly because of the community. However, Riot also tend to play very advertiser safe, and most American advertisers are the most puritan mfs you'll ever meet. No swearing, nothing remotely controversial or disrespectful. Tl;Dr, I think Riot wouldn't even allow or cater to this type of crowd even if Val community was like this.
