Can someone explain the 7-1 meme?

posted about 2 years ago

Sorry, I wasn't trying to judge. For example, Spanish and Portuguese sound very similar to me, but if I learned Spanish, I would probably be able to understand the difference.

posted about 2 years ago

No. They probably only sound similar because you don't know either of them. If you learn one of them, you'll be able to tell what language they're speaking. There are similarities in the written form, for example, Chinese characters are present in kanji and hanja, but the pronunciations are very different, in my understanding.

You might need to take a step back, you seem a little too invested in this match.

I think this makes a lot more sense than the other arguments that people were going with. I personally don't have any issue with him coming back, just kinda wish he would shed more light on the situation, and potentially give some context that makes it not look as bad as it does.

posted about 2 years ago

I'm inclined to agree with you, but this has nothing to do with what people were talking about. People were talking about whether or not having an OF invalidates previous claims of SA. Not whether or not OF is a predatory platform.

posted about 2 years ago

disagreeing =/= sexist incel

saying women who do only fans are 100% lying about being SA'ed = incel

posted about 2 years ago

Why is it a red flag? In fact, having prior experience with sexual assault actually largely correlates with entering sex work.

posted about 2 years ago

It literally means someone who blames women for the fact that they can't get laid but has kinda devolved to mean people who are extremely toxic and aggressive, or misogynistic, towards women.

Not sure if this is the best tournament to look at for OW, but if it is then I don't think we have to worry. https://escharts.com/tournaments/ow/overwatch-league-inaugural-season

peak was around 850K I believe for the SEN v KRU match.

Despite the Brazilian scene's fairly lackluster performance at international lans, why is there so much investment in the region? Is it because the individual players are insane or market potential with the fanbase?

posted about 3 years ago

sorry, I meant 1 win at each international lans, 3 total.

posted about 3 years ago

I'd be in favor of removing one since the region was only able to get I believe one series win in all 3 international lans, but then again, I'm a fan of JP val.

posted about 3 years ago

Unlikely considering the harasser is most likely not Brazilian.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, I wish people would stop using others doing it as a justification for them doing it, regardless of the side. Very tragic.

posted about 3 years ago

It’s really just comedic level of a lack of self awareness. Big take away from this for me is to just stay off vlr and twitter whenever a BR team is playing, and just enjoy the match.

posted about 3 years ago

Not in champions but I liked Paper Rex’s. As for champions, probably gambit.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, but you don't see NA fans saying shit like, "it's our culture"

posted about 3 years ago

I think zombs can get a little cringe with the shit-talking but jesus, I'm losing so much respect for BR fans in this whole situation. From creating tinfoil hat-level conspiracy theories for why SEN beat Furia, crazy fans sending death threats to Zeek, normal fans tacitly endorsing the death threats, and then talking huge amounts of shit and then complaining that zombs is being mean. Ironically, my opinion of BR players has been getting much better, except ntk if he actually assaulted his ex.

posted about 3 years ago

To be fair, there's a large difference between making a stupid comment when you're a kid and physically assaulting someone.

Yeah, people have been complaining about the number of pauses in this tournament, but I don't think there's been a single boring series(maybe VS vs FS or NV vs x10).

posted about 3 years ago

I would say the 12-5 because it was the last map of the series. With the 100T vs GMB they had split after which made the hype of the comeback kind of wear off.

posted about 3 years ago

I think the issue lies in the fact that normal BR fans try to excuse the death threats with things like "overreacting" or "it's their culture" instead of just saying it's shitty behavior. Gives the impression that they think the death threats are justified.

It's all in the plan. Gambit won masters 3 after losing playoff qualifier to a comeback on icebox. Don't lose faith brother.

posted about 3 years ago

You can see that they're getting a little too cocky. gtn especially was making some very questionable plays.

posted about 3 years ago

That one round right after VKS got to 12 where GTN just ran through A after VKS got two picks and threw his life away to chronicle (i think?). Please don't let it come down to this.

posted about 3 years ago

Having a flashback to 100T vs Gambit on icebox.

posted about 3 years ago

He looked pretty meh on stage 3 playoffs but looked insane on LAN. Especially vs 100T. Maybe berlin was just a fluke?

posted about 3 years ago

Saw people saying GTN's Jett was bad. Is this performance uncommon, because he seems pretty good?

posted about 3 years ago

I can't. Every single round this guy continues to surprise me.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah. Since NV has Yay, crashies is more of a clutch king. Would be interested to see him be able to slot into a role like crashies where him popping off isn't a win condition.

After seeing VK compete against Envy, where even though they lost looked really strong in masters 3, I had some high hopes for them and kinda counted Furia and Vikings out. Glad I was wrong because these have been some crazy games.

posted about 3 years ago

Yeah, wish I knew Portuguese, would be fun to watch his streams.

posted about 3 years ago

I know, so surprised Vikings lost to HL who looked pretty bad at masters 3.

posted about 3 years ago

Never really watched much BR val, but damn is this guy wholesome. So much fun to watch.

posted about 3 years ago

I kind of agree with this, but I don't think that a bug not being in the rules gives you carte blanche to exploit it. Like if someone found new a new bug that wasn't in the rules, does that give them carte blanche to use it?

posted about 3 years ago

I find it unlikely that if they have this cam in their strategies, not one person in the entire org didn't speak English or had heard about the cam, or that Jhow just happened to develop the same spot for the cam. Sure the games were small, but tons of people, myself included, still heard about it when they happened. Unlikely that an org that has been to two international events didn't know about it.

posted about 3 years ago

Unlikely, once you make a decision like this, you kind of have to stick with it, or every time you make a controversial call, people will just try to get them to overturn their decision.

posted about 3 years ago

Well I mean think about it. How would you prevent someone from putting a cam up there, would you add a box that says cypher cams can't be put up there. I can think of a really easy way to do this in UE4 (which I'm pretty sure Val is made in) but only if they have the blueprints set up a certain way. I just don't think it's fair to assume that the fix to this would be easy, or more worthwhile then assigning devs to work on new features for maps and characters.

posted about 3 years ago

I agree with this as well. The games commonly go over their scheduled times, I don't see why Riot couldn't have just made them replay this half tomorrow morning.

posted about 3 years ago

Perhaps, but in that case, I'd call it grave incompetence for VK for using the bug considering there have already been two competitive rulings on it. And again, there are a lot of scenarios in which attempting to fix bugs like this could mess with essential mechanics in the game to where trying to fix them ends up creating more problems than it solves. It's hard to say without being on the Riot end, but I don't think it's fair to jump to a conclusion like that.

posted about 3 years ago

I can't speak specifically for how the programming would work on Riot's end, but it's possible that the cam glitch can be involved with geometry up there that, if changed, could affect line ups or has code that functions with how hitboxes on objects work where one change could affect how any cam is placed. It's a lot easier as a game studio to just ban people that use exploits like that and ban it in pro matches as long as it doesn't literally break the game.

I agree that it's a total fuck up for the referees to not see the bug, but I don't think it's fair to blame devs.

posted about 3 years ago

I mean, what is the alternative, if Furia was exploiting a bug that I assume was in the list, do you just let them complete the map? I think if Riot would've post-hoc given the map to SEN, or made them replay the rounds, people would have been a whole lot more upset than just pausing mid-game. Seemed like a lose-lose for Riot there.

posted about 3 years ago

I think the real problem lies in the fact that Riot didn't pause the match. I remember people in twitch chat spamming that the cypher cam was illegal, but somehow riot admins didn't see it.

posted about 3 years ago

I personally don't find it likely that Jhow didn't know that the cam was a bug. I remember not being invested in valorant pro scene until masters berlin and I even heard about the X10 ruling. The idea that you would specifically try to put your cam there when you have to jump off stairs to do it, especially when as a pro player, it's sort of your job to find neat cams online, and that no one on the team knew about this, not any other players or the coach? I can see not knowing about the haven box jump with CR and Furia, but for the cam, I just see no way you could not know it was an exploit.
