Better 👍

Do you guys draw a distinction between the two?

For example, someone like c0m, imo, has the best sova util, but someone like cauanzin or leo brings more overall impact, mostly because of their aim and impact fragging.

Can you think of any other examples.

"decided" is a strong word.

It's always funny when people find literally every excuse to take away from someone's achievements. EG coaching staff could've developed his talent, that doesn't all of a sudden mean that if he leaves EG, he loses all that developed talent.

This is just my belief, but I think the 2-year limit ascension teams get is to test to see if the orgs would be financially stable to remain in a partnership. Riot will probably expand the leagues in the future, but doesn't want to commit to bringing in new orgs when they don't know how stable they are. It wouldn't make sense for Riot to not expand the league, the game's getting more and more popular, and having small tournaments with few teams is just making them lose fans, viewership, and brand recognition that they could be getting.

He also IGL'd for 100T for a little bit, I believe.

Don't know why I got down voted for this. https://twitter.com/ethanarnold/status/1495898103093899264

I think DFM gained quite a few fans after the CR team up. A lot of those players are pretty popular, and will bring quite a few fans. You just won't seem them on VLR.

I thought the same thing when I saw the title. Thought they were signing the Crimson chin

I don't think VLR publishes theirs, but there's others out there. I know RIB has one, and if you watched the video about quantifying the GOAT, there's one there as well. They're both paid for though, I believe.

All I know is that the VCT EMEA logo is the worst, the Americas ones isn't that much better tho

To be fair, he's making educated guesses. He's using results, and comparing them to a similar example from last season. We won't know what will happen until the season, but it's not like he's just saying, SEN will do well because I like them.

Maybe I'm missing things but Keiko did not look good. There were tons of moments where his missing raze util was what cost Team Liquid a play. I didn't watch the Fancy United game, so maybe he did well there, but the rest didn't look great.

posted about a year ago

Because he plays Yoru and Kay/0 on maps?

posted about a year ago

Most still consistent tho

posted about a year ago

Imo 2 different factors.

One, he was duelist on the roster for a long time after not performing well, so people think he's overrated.

The second, people like to hate anything that's popular, and do an "anti-circlejerk" circlejerk, so any criticism of him gets compounded with personally disliking him, causing it to be more harsh and often.

Just my opinion tho

Tbf, they were 3rd best in pacific last year, behind PRX and DRX. It's not a crazy leap to put them in 2nd.

God, zekken is so good

I believe Twitch overtook them in popularity. Probably because of the access to foreign markets of viewers compared to Afreeca, which is largely only korean.

Not really, they can just watch it on Youtube.

posted about a year ago

They've been playing matches almost nonstop for what like 3-4 months. They're playing against new teams that have just rebuilt their rosters with no vods, meanwhile, they have whole libraries dedicated to vods of them. Not the easiest position to be in.

posted about a year ago

I mean, we just saw at the GCC where someone interviewing the players didn't even know who was IGLing for EG. I would trust Paperthin and Achillios to get it right, but there's a chance they're wrong.

Rossy, Xeta, Xccurate, and two of the remaining (iZu/Saya/K1ng/Carpe). I don't think we've gotten any confirmation on the remaining two, but I'd say it's most likely going to be Saya and k1ng. But who knows, they could put iZu in over Saya on duelist to see how he performs in the offseason.

The best thing you can do with Semmler is just block him and stop reading it. He doesn't legitimately care about anything related to GC, he only wants to use a socially divisive topic to farm impressions in the hope of making money or rekindling any remnants of his casting career. Stop giving the fucker any impression money he might get on Twitter.

He claims to want to the support the womens/gc scene despite being very openly against it from it's inception.

That's the thing. They always talk about how much they care for women in the scene, and how they're being negatively affected by trans participation. However, when push comes to shove, they never watch any of the games, they never support any of the players, and they don't interact with the scene outside of the times they can use it as a platform to gain any sort of interaction. In some cases, they'll switch from making fun of the GC scene and women, but will then act like a white knight anytime a trans issue comes up.

Would be huge for T1 if iZu can keep up his Jadeite level performances.

Sen could (and probably will) lose, and Zekken would still be better.

18 - zekken
21 - demon1

posted about a year ago

I was going to support T1 because I recently got into league esports because of them and xeta is the most underrated player in the world., but after the Rossy move, I'm probably just going to root for DRX, keeping iZu from playing when he's such a promising talent is criminal.

posted about a year ago

I don't think it would be too difficult if you kept it too only VCT players, just have to figure out how points would be calculated.

What was the asterisk on the EG win?

posted about a year ago

Alexis as well, pretty sure she's been with Mel on the same roster since MAJKL

I doubt any English streamers did because of the time zones, but I would imagine a few JP streamers did if you care about that. Normally fps_shaka watches some of the JP valorant games.

I had a strange feeling that the people saying for the past week that trans competitors have an unfair advantage were going to start saying having a full female roster was better when SR or EG lost to one.

posted about a year ago

Watching that game was so frustrating. They just kept ego-peeking the OP, and everyone else, when they were down 11-4 or whatever. It felt like they had no prep on that map and just cooked their comp. They had no sense of the timings that G2 could have, and the extent of their strategies was just to send flor in and follow her.

posted about a year ago

I'm aware of the screenshots. The actual sentence could be interpreted as either someone saying that they're going to fake NB and compete, or someone worried about whether or not they would be judged for coming out as NB before competing. Which have two different implications. Hence my point is that while the screenshots on their own aren't sufficient, when you place all the posts and videos together it looks bad.

posted about a year ago

This was the best I could find. It's a Forbes article where they use the word "all-female." It's worth noting that we don't use the word female for trans-women, as it refers to your sex, not your gender expression.

https://www.forbes.com/sites/mattgardner1/2021/10/19/g2-esports-unveils-first-ever-all-female-team-for-valorant/?sh=3078b5055943

posted about a year ago

They didn't admit to faking NB, and the screenshots don't necessarily prove anything. They were dropped from GC for the misogyny and weird comments to underage women. I personally feel like when you put the whole picture together, the odds of them faking are pretty high, but can't say for certain.

I don't think annja is trans. I don't have a source, but there was a discussion around Berlin when people thought she was trans, and she had to comeout and say she wasn't. I don't have a source, just a recollection.

posted about a year ago

Valid, but comparing T1 to such a terrible org has earned you a one way ticket to hell

posted about a year ago

Doesn't M80 already have a full roster? Nismo, Koalanoob, BcJ, Nitro, Zander? Also, if it was M80, I feel like James would've said that, if for no other reasons than the impressions.

Meiy in franchising!!!

posted about a year ago

This is probably one of the better rosters you could build if not getting the Fennel core. Popogachi is a good sova player, meiy is a pretty good duelist but a little inconsistent. neth and JoxJo are good support players. Suggest is a little iffy IMO, think Xdll would've probably been better in the long run, but I don't know if he's planning on coming back to Fennel.

posted about a year ago

Maybe that's the Korean pronunciation? I don't speak the language, so I can't say for sure.

posted about a year ago

Granted I don't play this game a lot, but I see couple nicknames like once every 20 games, it's really not common at all.

posted about a year ago

There's really not much better they could cook up than just buying the Fennel roster.

posted about a year ago

Is this in order? Heat really hasn't impressed me as much as Askia. Outside of his last game, Askia seemed to be really good, and Heat didn't look nearly as good as he used to this year. Maybe that was just MIBR though.
